Up
and at ‘em early for our day at MGM. Hopefully, we can do a few more
attractions today than we did yesterday! ;-)
Its an early entry day, so off to catch the boat by 7:30am. The
first one didn’t even stop at the Boardwalk – just YC/BC and
Swan/Dolphin. We got there in plenty of time before opening, and
they didn’t start letting us in until right around 8 o’clock. Maddy
and I headed for Tower of Terror (ToT) and Kristen and Brinn headed
to Rockin Roller Coaster (RnR) to get fastpasses. Brinn won’t ride
ToT and Kristen doesn’t mind skipping that one in the least! ;-)
Maddy
and I pretty much walked right on and even got front row seats. It
was a great ride with lots of trips up and down the elevator. We
bounced for quite some time. But all too soon the ride was over and
we left to meet back up with Brinn and Kristen. Since we could now
come back for RnR anytime, we’ll save that for later. We headed
across the park and got to the Great Movie Ride just before it
opened at 8:30am. We were on the first car of the day – just made it
in the back row. Fun as always, and as we excited Minnie, Goofy,
Donald and Daisy, Pluto, Chip, Dale and others I think were headed
out for some picture and autograph sessions. It was fun seeing them
all in their Year of a Million Dreams attire and after a few
pictures we went on to Star Tours.
The
kids love this one and it was fun as always. Only about 10 minute
wait so no problem. The family then dragged me out of the store
kicking and screaming without a R2D2 robot! ;-) Just won’t let me
get one! :-D
By
this time the fact that we had skipped breakfast was making everyone
hungry. I ran off for Little Mermaid FastPasses while the girls went
for breakfast. The ABC commissary serves breakfast so we went there.
It was pretty good, but the CMs were a bit surly. Oh well – guess
everyone has a bad day now and again.
After
eating we went off to watch the Little Mermaid. Great show as
always, and afterward we even talked the girls into seeing Goliath
(Is that his name?) – the lion from the Jojo – circus show. Since
the girls are getting older, I’m not as familiar with these
characters, but our goddaughters love them so a picture of the girls
with him will go over big. :-)
THEN we waited for about 15 minutes for High School Musical Pep
Rally. They have been WAITING for this one, and it was a must see!
:-) Of course, the waiting spot we had was in full sun and way hot.
But the girls enjoyed the show and even got to shoot some hoops and
learn a dance. It was fun.
After
that we were getting pretty hot. We decided to go see the Cars
Characters on the Streets of America and then head back after a bit
of shopping. On the way we ran into Kim Possible and Ron Stopable
and took the chance for a photo and autograph. Then we found
Lightening McQueen and Tow Mater a bit farther on.
We had no desire to watch the shows today – so Belle, Indy and the
Stunt Show were off the list. The muppets will have to wait for
another day and after hitting several stores where the girls shopped
and I cooled off it was off to the boat and home.
