Typhoon LagoonTyphoon Lagoon opens early every day this month for resort guests, so that means we get up early today!   Opening time is 8 am, so we get moving around 7 since we have the car and will drive there.   Pretty easy to get ready when its just a swim day!  :-)

C
Wave Poolalled down for the car to be pulled around and we were soon on the way.  Parked very close to the gate and we were soon inside.  Stickers for the reusable mugs are $6.00 this year, and I should have passed because we ended up only filling it a couple times.  Forgot that drinks come with your counterservice meals on the dining plan.  Oh well!  :-)

Shark TeethFirst we got a locker and some towels.  $10 for the smaller locker, but you get 5 back when you return the key.  I think the towels were $1 each….  It seems to rain every afternoon when we come here, so we grabbed chairs in a covered area just in case.  The park was pretty dead right now so we headed to the Gusher Crusher (or is that Crusher Gusher?)  and rode all three slides one after the other.  LOVE this water coaster and even Brinn didn't mind the drops that get you moving!  Fun, fun, FUN!  Just remember to lift your bottom when you start down a hill or you 'bottom out'!  ;-)

Water Park GatorMascotThen it was off to the rest of the slides.  We did all we wanted to, multiple times with little or no waits.  Then, after 9 when it started to pick up we did the lazy river for a few passes (before it got jammed) and then on to the wave pool.

Lunch was at Typhoon Tilleys.  I had the Chicken wrap and Kristen had the pork sandwich.  The girls both had the hotdogs in a pail.  Need that pail for some afternoon sand playing time!  :-)   Since dessert is included on the meal plan we asked if we could come back for it.  They just had us order what we wanted and then gave us tokens to use when we were ready.  Worked great and no melted Mickey Bars for us!  :-)

We headed back to relax and let the girls play in the sand.  I just about fell asleep lying in the shade and so did Kristen.  Just a perfect day.  Around 2 we decided to head to downtown Disney and do some shopping.  The girls both had their eyes on several items and their money was burning a hole in their pockets!  :-)

Princess Area of World of Disney Store

We had brought a change of clothes, and the rest rooms near the lockers have showers and changing areas.  We all got ready and then met up outside.  I returned the locker key for my refund and we were off.  Its only a short hop over to Downtown Disney and we parked behind the World of Disney store and were quickly inside.  There were a bunch of little girls all made up in their princess costumes at the Bibbidi Bobbiti boutique.  Poor Aurora got moved outsideVERY cute, but that $175 price tag for the full package is a killer!  I think we'll pass on this with TWO little princesses in tow!  Yowsa!   Besides - they like swimming too much to loose it for a day!  ;-)

We quickly filled two shopping baskets with treasures for everyone!  That 10% AP discount came in handy today!  After we had been shopping for about 10 minutes we looked out the window and it was a torrential downpour.  Lots of thunder and lightening as well.  Guess we dodged the storm this year and exicited Typhoon Lagoon just in time!  We have been very lucky storm wise this year so far.  Seem to always be inside when it hits.  Whew!

Pirates Display in Toy StoreBy the time we exited the World of Disney the storm had passed.  I ran the girls booty out to the car (again the big trunk comes in handy - I just hope it will fit in the luggage!) and then found them waiting for me when I got back.  We then hit the Toy Store and after asking at Guest Services found out that the Marketplace Snacks stand will let you buy snacks when on the dining plan.  We got some Toll House cookie sandwiches and a couple boxes of popcorn and sat by the water.  A nice break.

Next it was off to the Christmas Shop.  Got several things and picked up some new nametags for the girls.  Princess ones this time.  They were $6 and included the ingraving.  They had it done in just a few minutes which was nice.

Pirate display outside World of Disney StoreThat’s all the time we have for Downtown Disney today.  We have enough time to get back, change and go to dinner at Whispering Canyon Café.   The girls played with their new toys for a bit and then we headed downstairs to dinner.   It was a Rip Roarin' good time!  Lots of interaction with the CM's and the food was excellent.  Kristen had the skillet with ribs, chicken, pork and sausage - I think she ate about half!  I had the NY Strip - excellent, Maddy the mac and cheese - very good and Brinn the Grilled Cheese.  I think this meal plan is really filling us up!  NONE of us could eat dessert so the CM filled box after box with dessert makin's and we took it all to the room.  Froze the ice cream and can have a nice dessert if we are ever hungry again!  (becoming doubtful!)  :-)

That was it for me.  I was pooped today and crashed by 8:30!  Tomorrow is Animal Kingdom and our first shot at Expedition Everest!  Can't wait!
