This morning starts
out with a pool day so we all sleep in a bit. We got ready and
headed down to the Market Place to get a bite to eat before hitting the
pool. We decided to pool hop over to the Boardwalk this morning,
and walked around the lake past the Swan/Dolphin to get there.
The Boardwalk Luna Park Pool was quite empty when we arrived and we
easily found some chairs to use. There was no line for the
Keister Coaster slide so we all did that a time or three. We
enjoyed the pool for about an hour and a half and then headed back to
Stormalong Bay.
We swam here until
lunch time and then grabbed a bite to eat at Hurricane Hanna's.
The food was actually pretty good for poolside fare and after eating I
decided to head inside for a while. The girls continued to swim
until about 3pm when it was time to get ready. We had decided to
attend the 'Welcome Home Wednesday' Disney Vacation Club (DVC) event
over at the Atlantic Dance Hall on the Boardwalk. We walked over
again and headed inside. They had chairs and tables all set up in
front of a large screen and a game podium with score boards for 4
players. All the adults filled out cards when we arrived and they
later chose players from those cards. They had lemonade and some
popcorn snacks for everyone to enjoy, and soon the show started.
They introduced the
show host who was the husband of the woman who typically does the show
(from what I could gather!). He was funny, but maybe a bit over
the top. They picked the four players (not us!) and then
started the game. Each question was a DVC question and some were
easy, some tough. The audience could raise their hands to answer
questions the contestants could not. If correct they got a
pin.
The host would give
out points as he saw fit, and as the game wrapped up he made sure that
all the contestants had equal scores, so that they ALL ended up
winning! They got a DVC cooler/travel seat that was nice and then
the chose more names for more door prizes. It was fun, but we did
not win anything. BUT, on the way out, we each got a nice DVC
baseball cap for attending. I was quite happy with that and worn
it the next couple days when I needed/wanted a hat. Thanks DVC -
it was a fun time!
After the show we walked over to Epcot. We had some
time before our 6:30pm San Angel Inn reservation, so we toured the UK
and Canada. We ran into Mary Poppins, Alica, Pooh, Tigger and
Eeyore in the UK. As we headed through Canada we saw the
Brother Bear characters and got to catch a little bit of Off
Kilter.
It was getting close to dinner time so we headed over to
Mexico and stopped in a few stores on the way. We shopped in
Mexico until it was time for dinner and eventually we were seated right
at the water's edge near the ride. Great table with a nice view
of the pyramid and volcano in the distance. Still on the meal
plan so we started out with some appetisers and then our main courses
followed with ice cream for dessert. Everything was very good and
a nice dinner all around.
After that we continued our way around World
Showcase. The girls were visiting Kidcot in each country and
wanted to finish them all before the end of the trip. Won't
happen tonight, but getting closer! :-) We toured and
shopped until it was time to find a spot for Illuminations. I
found and held (kind of!) a spot in Italy that had a great view.
Kristen and the girls arrived just as the show was getting started and
we all enjoyed it. Great as always.
After that we
worked out way back to the International Gateway amidst all the
crowds. I'm SO glad we can just walk back from here! I'd
hate to be crammed on a bus tonight, but the short walk to Beach Club
is fine! Soon we are back and in our room and settled for the
night. Another fun day!
