We
changed and headed to the pool. We easily found good chairs and
went
to cool off in the lazy river portion. The girls have noodles and
used
those to float around a couple times before heading back to the sandy
area to play. Soon a lifeguard asked them if the wanted to go on
a
scavenger hunt and they said yes. They played with lots of other
kids
and the life guard for quite some time and returned with a small
treasure chest full o f 'gems' the had found during their 'hunt' at the
bottom of the kiddee section of the pool. A nice fun way for the
kids
to be entertained and Maddy stayed for at least an hour playing pool
games. Brinn and I headed to the other end of the pool to enjoy
the
various sections and do the slide a couple times. Lines were not
too
bad yet, and it was fun.
When we got back Maddy had just returned from playing and it was
getting a bit dark from the clouds. We all headed over to the
deeper
section to play together, but soon a light rain started and we heard
thunder. Brinn ran over to get us a place in line for Beaches and
Cream and we ended up with a 30 minute wait JUST before the whole pool
wanted to get in there at once! I took the girls into the
arcade and
they have a new card you can get there that lets you buy arcade
'points' to play the games. We got each girl a card with a few
dollars
to use for the week. They enjoy the freedom of being able to play
without having tokens or change. You can recharge your card
if
desired, and each time you use it it tells you how many points you have
left.
Soon our table was ready and we headed into Beaches and
Cream. Kristen
and I had burgers and onion rings and the girls had grilled cheese
sandwiches. All were very good. For dessert we had the No
Way Jose
and shared a couple of these between us. I used the Disney Dining
Experience card for this meal as we had other sitdowns planned for the
Meal plan. Gotta love that 20% discount! :-)
After that I headed to the room for a bit of quiet time to do some
laundry, clean up the room a bit and work on the trip report.
Napping
can also be involved. ;-) When the girls finished up at the
pool we
all got ready and headed over to MGM. We caught the boat pretty
quickly and soon were heading into the park.
It was pretty busy, and we got there around 6:30 or
so. Some real
light rain, but not bad. We tried to see the last Beauty and the Beast
show, but JUST missed it as full. Park is open until 10pm, but
all the
fast passes for Tower of Terror (ToT) and Rockin Roller Coaster (RnR)
are already gone with long waits. We pass on those and find that the
Ariel show is just about to start and not quite full. We watch
that.
Our course, someone in our row decided to stop in the middle of the row
in a full show and mess up everyone trying to get to their seats.
I
REALLY get annoyed at these people that think rules are for everyone
EXCEPT them. Anyway the show was great as always, and the girls
really
enjoyed seeing it again.
After that we continue up Mickey Ave and hit the Narnia
attraction.
About a 15 minute wait for this and it was fun for the girls to see
things from the movie. Everyone was getting hungry so we
stopped at
the ABC Commissary for a counter service meal. Kristen had the
Cuban
sandwich and I had the Curry Chicken. I love spicy and BOY was
the
chicken spicy - so fair warning! :-) The girls had chicken
nuggets (I
think…) and we all had Hagendaz Ice cream bars for dessert.
Then it was off to Star Tours! First we snapped some pictures of
the
girls on the Star Speeders. Try to get those every trip!
Then on to
the ride which had a VERY short wait (a walkon really) and the girls
LOVE this one. While we shopped in the store they went on
again. I
spent the time bugging Kristen with MY toy list. "I want a
SpudTrooper, and R2 Potatoo, and those cool little Yoda and Mickey
figures! :-D
Soon the girls were back and they did the 'put your face
on a Star Wars
character' picture. It was fun and while Maddy's face
didn't quite
'fit' Brinn's Princess Amadala was very cute. She wanted it, but
we
had done a picture with her and Maddy and decided to pass on that one
this time. Maybe tomorrow we'll try again.
We are seeing Fantasmic tomorrow, so we aren't worried about that
tonight. Next we decide to try Sounds Dangerous. We have
NEVER done
this attraction in all our visits, and figure what the heck.
Well, we
haven't really missed anything here! They can replace THAT attraction
anytime! THAT is staying open and Millionare is closing? I
don't
understand THAT! ;-) And what is the ABC TV
area? Was always
closed. These two are in prime locations, and should REALLY be
turned
into one or two MUCH better shows/attractions. Lets go Disney!
After that it was another walk on for the Great Movie Ride. Not
Maddy's favorite… She doesn't like the gun fight and Aliens doesn’t
make her too happy either. But she does fine and we all enjoy it
for
the most part. Noticed several additions in the end movie
including
Pirates.
And that was it. We hit a few stores and then headed out of the
park.
Lucked out and the boat was just arriving so we were soon back at the
Beach Club. (OK - soon being relative - those Friendship boats
are a
bit slow!) ;-)
Tomorrow is Early Entry at MGM so straight to bed tonight!
