I woke up in plenty
of time to MAKE early entry at Magic Kingdom, but felt LOUSY.
After a quick consultation with a still sleepy Kristen, it was quickly
decided to switch our Thursday and Friday plans around a bit.
We'd do Magic Kingdom tomorrow, going in at opening, an enjoy another
pool day today. This meant a couple more hours of sleep and a
nice light breakfast in the room before heading to the pool for a
couple hours. This helped me recharge a bit, and then we
got ready and headed over to Beach Club to eat lunch at Beaches and
Cream.
We arrived just before they opened at 11am,
and were quickly seated (in a coveted booth, so its good to get there
right at opening!) :-) I had some lunch vouchers that
Kristen and I used here. Its a great deal - we each got about $20
worth of food (plus tax and tip included). I had a great burger,
onion rings, soda and No Way Jose Sundae. Kristen had something
very similar and we just paid for the two kids meals and their drinks
beyond what the meal vouchers covered. Not to shabby. Between Disney Rewards and Meal Vouchers,
we've done pretty darn good where meals are concerned this trip!
:-)
After our great and VERY filling lunch -
(we shared the sundaes with the girls and STILL couldn't finish them
both!) we walked it off a bit looking around the Beach Club and Yacht
Club stores. We found a few items we had not seen elsewhere, and
I got a nice DVC Sweatshirt I liked. They also had some new DVC
items I hadn't seen before including playing cards, decals, magnets and
luggage tags. Nice to see little DVC items for sale.
Back out to catch a waiting boat to the
Boardwalk. I headed back up to the room for a needed
nap, and the girls hit the pool some more. They woke me up in the
later afternoon, and after we got ready, we decided to head over to the
Swan for dinner. DVC members get a 20% discount at many of the
restaurants over there, so I wanted to check them out. We decided
on Gullivers, and lucked into an immediate seating on a character
night! Goofy and Pluto were there, and the girls were happy to
get in another Character meal.
They love Goofy and Pluto so that worked out well! ;-)
Dinner was very good, and the Swan is a beautiful hotel. We
enjoyed looking around a bit and walking back over to the
Boardwalk. We checked out the Fourtuneteller, and JUST
missed the sword swallower as her finished up his act. We saw
Illuminations again, and then played the lobster in the pot game where dear ole dad lucked into winning a
large dolphin for the girls! The girls are in stuffed
animal HEAVEN this trip. I think I forgot to
mention that on the night we checked in we received a package in our
room after returning from Chef Mickey's! Inside were two stuffed
dolphins and a little penguin for each girl! A
super thoughtful and sweet friend had sent these for the girls!
Are they spoiled or WHAT!? :-) Rhetorical - they are
SPOILED! But they really LOVED them.
Anyway, they promised to share this newest addition to their
collection, and we moved on. We caught a juggler and then
had to head inside. It was late, and we had to be up and ready to
catch the bus to Magic Kingdom by 8:15am! Kristen and I got
everything packed up since we need to check out in the morning.
Goodnight!
