We caught the
monorail to
the Ticket and Transportation center, and then hopped the bus to
MGM.
It was another nice day, and a HOT one! We were doing pretty good
though, and headed off to get some fastpasses for RnR. Maddy is
too
short to ride this one, but that just means Brinn gets to go
twice.
:-) It was pretty busy, and the return time was 5:25pm at a bit
after
2pm!! Ouch! But the fastpass said I could get another pass
at 2:48 so
I'd do that in a while. The girls wanted to play in the
Honey I
shrunk the Kids play area, so we spent a bit of time over there.
The
girls had a great time, and I headed over to Star Tours to get another
fastpass around 2:45. The return time was much better than RnR -
3:30. So, back to get the girls and we headed over to watch the
Stars
and Motorcars Parade. We got a great spot and waited for the
parade to
start. It was a wonderful parade, and we all enjoyed it.
Now, we were into
our return time for Star Tours, so we headed over
there. Had another great ride (the kids LOVE this one) and
then we
walked to the Backlot to see if we could luck out and find Kermit and
or Miss Piggy or maybe the Toy Story gang. Well, we hit pay dirt
today! We found Kermit and Miss Piggy, and even had enough to get
in
line before they were leaving! (We'd been just missing them every
time!) Then off to Al's Toy Barn, and there we found a fairly
short
line for Buzz, Woody and Jesse. Even the Green Army Man was there
-
and who was his CM helper, but Valerie! Valerie and her mom
(Rosebud)
are members of the Tagrel.com site forums, and Rosebud had posted a
picture of Valerie that made it easy to recognize her smiling
face! I
was in line with the girls, but Kristen had a chance to talk to her for
a few minutes before she had to head back stage. I had hoped to
get a
picture with her, but it wasn't meant to be. Wouldn't it have
been fun
to ask he Green Army Guy to take our picture with his CM helper!
;-)
Well, we saw Buzz, Woody and Jesse, and that was
fun! Then we headed
off and decided to check availability for a seat at Sci Fi
Drive-in.
Wonder of wonders, they had an immediate table ready! :-)
This was
our first time eating here and we all enjoyed it. Its fun sitting
in
the 'cars' and the girls were QUITE interested in hearing about old
drive ins Mom and Dad went to as kids. Since it was also 5pm we
received the dinner menu, and it didn't list any burgers! Well,
I'd
heard to stick with the burgers here, and after asking the server we
found out you could still order burgers even though they were not on
the menu. Great! :-) Kristen and I went with
the burgers, she also
got a shake which was good and the girls had the kids grilled cheese
and a corn dog. Everyone liked their meal and the atmosphere was
very
cool.
Well, it was finally time for us to return to Rockin
Roller Coaster
(RnR) for our ride. Since Madison is too short we took turns and
Brinn
got to ride twice this time. She really enjoyed it since it has
no big
drops, but the takeoff scares her just a bit. Hey, I'm happy
she'll
ride it at all after all the trouble we had on Space Mountain with
her! :-) Well, that was it. We were tired today since
we hadn't
really had a break, and decided to head on back to the Boardwalk.
We
caught the boat back, and then headed in to the lobby. I went to
request our bags at the Bell desk while the girls plopped on a couch
near the door. The CM at the DVC desk came over to talk to them a
bit,
and gave them a bunch of stickers. They were very happy to accept
his
offer, and then we went outside to await our rental car and bags.
Both arrived fairly quickly, and we were soon off and
headed to the
Residence Inn at SeaWorld. This is a very nice hotel, and we were
really happy with it. Our room was great with a kitchen area,
living
room with pullout couch and a separate bedroom with two double
beds.
There was a great pool, play area, tennis court, volleyball area and
even picnic area with grills. They even provided a wonderful hot
breakfast every morning and it was 5 minutes (if that!) to Sea
World.
All this for a AAA rate of $122 per night - not too shabby!
We settled into the room, and then headed off to bed. Tomorrow we
head to SeaWorld for our first visit ever! |
