U p
around 6:30 with a bit of time to work on the trip report and get
ready before waking the girls to get ready. After they woke up and
got ready be had a quick breakfast of bagels and juice before
heading down to catch the boat to the MK. Today is a Extra Magic
Hours at the MK, but at night so we didn’t need to catch the boat
until a bit after 8. I think the larger boats don’t start until 8:30
or so and the line was already pretty long. So when the Contemporary
boat arrived we decided to take it. Nice to keep moving and the
girls could get a ride on the Monorail as well. After we jumped
line, so did all the other people waiting. Filled that little boat
right up! :-)
I
don’t know where the monorails spend the night, but why do they
smell like a farm in the morning? ;-) It was really strong when we
got on this morning, but not too bad. The ride over was fun and
always a great way to arrive at the Magic Kingdom (MK).
They had let most people through the ticket gate already, so no long
lines to wait for. They still move pretty slow with everyone finger
scanning, but this helped. Only about 5 or 10 minute wait and the
opening show started. Soon we were in the park, and headed up a
pretty crowded main street. We planned our usual attack –
Fantasyland first. They had the pathway through the castle closed
already, so we had to go off toward Frontierland to catch the side
pathway.
There
was another rope drop to wait a few minutes here for and then off to
Dumbo. Already the wait was longer than we like and they were
loading even slower than usual. Since we were so close to Ariel’s
Grotto we noticed the Ariel was already there! Dumbo was thrown over
for a chance to see Ariel with no wait! In this heat, (not bad yet
this morning but we knew it was coming). We jumped out of Dumbo line
and walked over to the Grotto. No wait. None. We were first in line
at the chain with only one family with Ariel right then. NICE! :-)
Ariel was as charming at ever, and the girls had a nice non-hurried
visit.
Then it was off to Peter Pan. Abut a 5 minute wait and a great ride
as always. Then Snow White with almost no one in line followed by
Pooh and NO ONE in line. It’s nice when the park opens all at once.
Spreading the people across all the park areas really thins them
out! On to Tea Cups and again – no wait. Alice and the Mad Hatter
even rode together in a tea cup while we were there. Kristen wisely
chose her own tea cup so I could spin the girls at warp speeds.
Everything was a blur and I think we hit a new speed record. :-) We
all stumbled off the ride and tried to focus long enough to locate
the exit! Good thing breakfast was a light one! :-D
Alice
and Mad Hatter of course moved into photo and autograph mode and we
jumped in line. They were fun together and quite interactive with
the crowd this morning. Then it was back to the rides and we headed
for Tomorrowland. Like the slow moving Dumbo the raceway was already
busy with a longer line. I despise waiting in line for this one as
its slow and hot and oh so smelly. If I wanna smell that I’ll mow my
lawn, but paying for the experience AND wasting precious early
arrival time just doesn’t cut it!
So
we continued on to Buzz Lightyear while I ran off to grab Space
Mountain fast passes. Quickly got those and met the family at Buzz.
Into the extremely fast moving line and on the ride in less than 5
minutes. We are all getting a bit better at this, but Maddy is
starting to catch one or at least getting much luckier. She did
quite well getting the mid 20,0000’s. I got around 150,000 but
mainly because I know some good targets. :-) I DO share my knowledge
of these targets, but they can’t seem to get them.
As we
excited we found Stitch with little line and visited with him
quickly. He was fun as always and then it was back on Buzz for
another spin before the crowds arrived. Still 5 minutes, and we all
did even better on a second try. I got a bit over 300,000 and
Madison almost broke 30,000. She was quite excited and Brinn and
Kristen did pretty well too. Always a fun time.
