Slept in a bit later today since we don't
have to be anywhere until 9:15 for the kid's pirate cruise that leaves
right from the Yacht Club marina. We got there just a couple
minutes late and while Kristen checked in the girls, I got to meet
SammieG! She recognized me and came right over to say hi.
Soon BillJ got there and I met him as well.
Things were a bit
hecktic until the girls were ready and off on the cruise, but then we
got introductions all around. Sammie, her husband Richard and
Theo were there. BillJ, his wife Susan and daughter Olivia as
well. Theo and Olivia had done the pirate cruise out of the Grand
Floridian before, so they seemed able and experienced pirates ready for
this cruise! :-) Brinn and Maddy were ready, and had
traded in their pirate Mickey ears for the same bandana's all the other
kids were wearing. All the kids looked so cute.
Soon our little pirates were sailing off on their 'ship' and the
parents were free for two hours! :-)
Kristen and I had decided to have breakfast
at the Yacht Club
Galley. Sammie and Richard hadn't eaten yet and decided to join
us. Bill and Susan had already eaten so I think
they went
exploring the resorts. We met up with them a bit later in the
Yacht Club lobby.
Breakfast was very good and we had a nice
chat. I really enjoyed
talking with Sammie and Richard, and I found it very interesting to
hear about Walt Disney World and the states from a British point of
view. :-) Kristen even got some good insight on some super
comfortable shoes she needs to try. Crocs I believe they are
called, and we are now on a mission to find her some soon.
We met back up with everyone after a bit of
shopping in the Yacht Club
store, and then headed out to the marina to get the kids. They
were still over on the beach near the Albatross Shipwreck, but soon
were back in the water and headed for the doc. They came in
giving big ARGGGGGGGs and looking rather happy. After passing out
their pirate treasure they joined us on shore to show us their ill
gotten goods! ;-)
A nice CM helped us out by taking a group photo, and then
we said our
good-byes. They were all headed off to MGM, and we were off to
Stormalong Bay. We ran back for a quick change in the room and
then back down to the pool. On the way the girls saw Art the
Greeter and spent some time trading a couple pins.
We enjoyed about an hour or so, but
some black clouds were rolling in. We had a bit more time before
it started storming, and we got to Beaches and Cream JUST before the
run because it started pouring with lightening and thunder.
