I was up with the sun again today, so I snapped off a
few more pictures of our last sunset. Just beautiful .
Worked on the trip report for a bit, and then finished up getting ready
and getting everything together to check out and leave after breakfast.
Sunday is the day the Sonya’s has a wonderful Brunch buffet.
After doing a bit of shopping in the Vero store (where Maddy picked up
a half price bargain Jesse doll, and Brinn got a Mickey Beach action
figure playset) we arrived at Sonya’s as the brunch was just getting
started at 10am. The food was wonderful, from the great breakfast
selections like fresh made Mickey Waffles, Omlets and a wide array of
lunch favorites as well. Lots of seafood choices for me, and
plenty for Kristen and the girls who just wanted breakfast items.
Even he desserts were wonderful. We left VERY full!
The drive back took less than two hours door to door with
no other stops. Our luck held out, and even though it was only
1pm on a Sunday our room was ready. We got a forth
floor, one bedroom unit about as far away from the elevators (near the
parking lot) that you could get – but they did fill all my
requests. Top floor, Epcot View. There is a balcony off the
living room and the Master bedroom, and this could be a two bedroom
lockout (the second bedroom door is in the entryway). Spaceship
Earth is the view straight out from the room, but we do overlook the
road passing by. Road noise does not bother us, but you can hear it just a
bit even with the doors closed. We settled in just a bit and then
decided to head to Epcot. We walked around the back way and
quickly entered using the International Gateway... Just as it started
to rain. We quickly bought ponchos, and its a good thing we
did. It started coming down in buckets, and we would have been
totally drenched.
We headed over to
the Land pavillion to spend our time in there while the storm
passed. We did Living with the Land with about a 10 minute wait,
and then on to Food Rocks. By the time we left, the storm was
gone and the sun was back out. Headed over to see Figment, and
then stopped by Ice Station cool to try a few different colas. We
all still hate Beverly, except Madison. She thinks it tastes
great! :-) On to Spaceship Earth, and then on to the
Mission:Space preview. Maddy JUST made the height cut off (44”), and we all got
to go on after about a 20-25 minute wait (30 minute wait was
posted). The girls weren’t positive if they liked it or
not. A bit intense for them, but they weren’t REALLY scared or
anything and no one got sick. Kristen
and I loved it. It’s such a great ride! We played the
game after Mission:Space, and while we were getting started someone
came over and introduced themselves quickly, having recognized us from
my web site! I think she said her name was Mena292– (Hi Mena!)
and I wanted to say hi back! :-)
OK, with Mission:Space under our belts it was time for
dinner – and everyone was still hungry! A good sign. We
were going to do Germany, but after that big Buffet at Vero, we decided
something lighter at the Electric Umbrella would be a better
choice. Everyone was getting tired and after some shopping at
Mouse Gear we decided to head back to the room. We got the kids
in bed by 8pm, and then Kristen and I proceeded to get everything
unpacked and get all settled.
The girls were already asleep, but Kristen and I heard
Illuminations start up, and found that we had a great view from the
balcony (off to the right). We could see all the higher
fireworks, and hear a bit of the music. We are off to Epcot
tomorrow, so its time to get some sleep. Breakfast with the
princesses in Norway is the morning plan followed by a mini-meet in
Mexico.
