Mickey opening the parkUp around 7:30 again today but not to go to the Studios as originally planned.   The girls want to finish up at the Magic Kingdom and then do the Studios on Tuesday when we were going to do MK Early Entry.   The way the crowds seem to be I don't think I'll be hitting the Early Entry mornings at all.  Just show up for 9am opening and enjoy short lines for at LEAST the first hour.

Dave on racewaySo, its back down to the dock to catch the boat.  Its running a bit later today than yesterday, but we arrive at the park before opening so all is well.

Maddy on raceway  Brinn on raceway

It seems a bit busier today, but I think it was just because we were a little later in arriving.  Inside the park we head for the Raceway and are third in line!  Now THAT is the way to ride this ride.  ;-)  HATE waiting in line for this one!

Racing Then its off to Tomorrowland and Space Mountain.  Maddy's patience in waiting for Space Mountain has completely gone by now and she want to RIDE!  This is her very favorite in all the parks, so she is ready!  Brinn is a bit more ambivalent but still she wants to ride which is a pleasant change!  ;-)

No whining, and wimping out this year... Just a few butterflies and a wary smile.   Its pretty close to a walkon as we just charge through the entire line.   And who do we run into right at the end of the line but Zac!   The  girls say hi first and he's a bit confused, but then he saw me and remembered who we were.  :-)

Zac and the girlsWe headed on up to the right side and quickly moved through the line.  As we approached the loading area Zac was back.  He asked if we wanted to tour the Control Tower!  Ya -HUH!  SURE!  :-D   Very cool!!!  He pulled us out of line and it was time to feel like a VIP!  We were cutting around through a couple of the closed pathways and then entered into the control booth that is located right where the paths split for the left or right sides.

Stitch and the girlsThere is a short stairway and door on the back and in there we went to check out the many monitors with camera views of the ride, computer readouts watching for malfunctions and control panels that show where each and every car is on the tracks!  VERY COOL!

Tooth brushing stitch and BrinnThen Zac was great enough to lead us back to where we were on the ride line and we got to ride the left side as originally planned.  It was a good ride, but the back seat is DEFINITELY wilder than the middle seats or front car.  As we came to the exit and Maddy was still screaming with delight, there was Zac waiting for us again!

TeacupsThis time we got to FP to the head of the Right side line!  Talk about SPOILED and happy!  Maddy was beyond herself happy and we all enjoyed a second ride (except Brinn - she had enough fun riding once and she is afraid of the right side - she thinks the drop is steeper.)

Thanks so very much Zac and we had a fantastic time on Space Mountain today!  That was very thoughtful and kind of you and the girls (especially Maddy since its her favorite) were talking about it all day!

Philharmagic storeAfter our fun time on Space Mountain we headed for Buzz.  We saw Stitch playing around without ANY guests to play with so we headed over.  After a 'normal' picture Brinn pulled out the toothbrushes and they both practiced some spontaneous oral hygiene.  :-D  We should have quite a collection of pics for the dentist on our return at this rate.  Wonder if he'd knock a few hundred off the bill...   ;-)

Haunted MansionWe all laughed and I think Brinn is getting used to pulling out that toothbrush all over the park.  We headed into Buzz - and you guessed it.  Walk-on!  :-D  It was closing in on 10am, and still no real lines to speak of.   When we walked by Astro Orbiter the line was maybe 10 people tops, and of course the Transit Authority was walk on as always.  Didn't do Stitch or the Laugh Floor but I saw people just walking into both.

girls in front of the castleWe headed back to Fantasyland to ride the teacups and Pooh.  Both were very short waits and then it was off to Philharmagic.  That we timed perfectly and walked RIGHT into a show about to start.  The theatre was about 66% full at most.

So, the crowds are still down from what I would expect for July.  As we walked past Peter Pan to ride Small World the wait was listed as 30 minutes but the line didn't look that long yet.  Small world was a walk-on and oh so very cool on a hot and sunny day.  Its really not too bad today (around 85 so far I think) but not much breeze and the direct sunlight is a killer as always!

More tooth brushing funAfter Small World we decided we were hungry.  It was about 11:15 or so and we went to Pinocchio Haus for pizza, chicken nuggets and mac and cheese for the girls.  everything was good and again around $30 total.  We easily got a table near the windows overlooking the start of Small World and the girls enjoyed waving to guests as they passed by.

After lunch we decided to ride Haunted Mansion again.  Love this one so much and the refurb last year really was a great improvement on that ride.  Could do it over and over and over.  :-)  Then it was time to head for the front of the park.  We don't have anything planned for the evening except dinner at Whispering Canyon so we want a nap, dinner and then some night time pool fun in that order.

While Maddy and Kristen found a rest room, I got Brinn in front of the castle with that toothbrush, and took a few other shots while they shopped down Main Street.  We went in to the Fire house store for the first time and found a machine to make personalized dog tags, so we made a new tag for Oreo that is dog bone shaped with Pluto on one side, and his name/phone on the other.  Cost is $10.

Then it was out of the park and onto the monorail for a quick resort tour.  We did some shopping at Grand Floridian and the Contemporary, and I got a bunch of picture of the Bay Lake Towers contruction that I can share with everyone.  Its really coming along and they even have the pathway connecting the buildings on the monorail level coming together as well.  I would think they have to announce this thing soon!  I look forward to staying there sometime if it is DVC...  :-D

After our resort hopping we caught the boat back to the Wilderness Lodge.  Its getting mighty hot especially in full sun so we get back to the room and crash for a nice cool nap.  The girls get up after an hour to play with some new toys.  They each got 'Polly Pocket' versions of Princess Leia and Queen Amadalh from Star Wars.  The stores at the Contemporary also had LOTS of new Potatoe head dolls that I got some pictures of as well.  I think my collection needs to grow!  :-D

Maddy and her big strawAfter naps we lounged around a bit and then headed downstairs to the lobby and dinner.  The Whispering Canyon Cafe was hopping and we had about a 15 minute wait before our table was ready.  When we were seated we went way past the normal dining room all the way back until you are sort of on a 'porch' looking down on the DVC stand and pin booth.  Only a few tables back here and pretty quiet compared to inside, but our waiter was still fun!

Brinn and her tiny third shakeHe was nice enough to let Brinn order from the kids menu.  She liked the selections on there better than the adult menu.  We all got the 'bottomless' shakes and Brinn finished her first one before salad's even got there.  That got the waiter going and he also brought Maddy a super long straw saying he could tell she was the large mouth!  :-D  He figured us out so QUICKLY!

By the totem poleSo, to get him back a bit we emptied out Brinn's kids water cup with top and poured her second shake in there.  Then she just slurped on the bottom of the mug when he came back!  :-D  He was hardly surprised at all and just gave her a hard time for chugging her shakes!  LOL   She kept after him and finally he brought her another one.  (I think he knew what she did...)  Check out the picture of her third shake!  :-D

Anyway, dinner was quite good otherwise.   Kristen and I got the skillet and it was very good and VERY filling!  Big Salad, coleslaw, ribs, pulled pork, chicken, beans, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, corn bread, wheel barrow to transport you back to room - it was ALL in there!  :-D  Whew!  I'm STILL full several hours later!

Playing the the VWL LobbyAfter dinner we walked around the lobby a bit and hit the store.  The girls found a couple more play sets they HAD to have and I found a Christmas ornament I liked.  We headed back to the Villas and say first outside in the rocking chairs and then moved inside in front of the fireplace where the girls opened their playsets and Kristen warmed up!  Warmed up in July in Florida!  :-O

Then it was back to the room for some reading, writing and relaxing in front of the TV.  Tomorrow its Animal Kingdom in the morning and Epcot in the evening... unless we change our minds again! :-D

Night!!!
