Up
around 7:30 again today but not to go to the Studios as originally
planned. The girls want to finish up at the Magic
Kingdom and then do the Studios on Tuesday when we were going to do
MK Early Entry. The way the crowds seem to be I don't
think I'll be hitting the Early Entry mornings at all. Just
show up for 9am opening and enjoy short lines for at LEAST the first
hour.
So,
its back down to the dock to catch the boat. Its running a bit
later today than yesterday, but we arrive at the park before opening
so all is well.

It seems a bit
busier today, but I think it was just because we were a little later
in arriving. Inside the park we head for the Raceway and are
third in line! Now THAT is the way to ride this ride.
;-) HATE waiting in line for this one!
Then
its off to Tomorrowland and Space Mountain. Maddy's patience
in waiting for Space Mountain has completely gone by now and she
want to RIDE! This is her very favorite in all the parks, so
she is ready! Brinn is a bit more ambivalent but still she
wants to ride which is a pleasant change! ;-)
No whining, and
wimping out this year... Just a few butterflies and a wary smile.
Its pretty close to a walkon as we just charge through the entire
line. And who do we run into right at the end of the
line but Zac! The girls say hi first and he's a
bit confused, but then he saw me and remembered who we were.
:-)
We
headed on up to the right side and quickly moved through the line.
As we approached the loading area Zac was back. He asked if we
wanted to tour the Control Tower! Ya -HUH! SURE!
:-D Very cool!!! He pulled us out of line and it
was time to feel like a VIP! We were cutting around through a
couple of the closed pathways and then entered into the control
booth that is located right where the paths split for the left or
right sides.
There
is a short stairway and door on the back and in there we went to
check out the many monitors with camera views of the ride, computer
readouts watching for malfunctions and control panels that show
where each and every car is on the tracks! VERY COOL!
Then
Zac was great enough to lead us back to where we were on the ride
line and we got to ride the left side as originally planned.
It was a good ride, but the back seat is DEFINITELY wilder than the
middle seats or front car. As we came to the exit and Maddy
was still screaming with delight, there was Zac waiting for us
again!
This
time we got to FP to the head of the Right side line! Talk
about SPOILED and happy! Maddy was beyond herself happy and we
all enjoyed a second ride (except Brinn - she had enough fun riding
once and she is afraid of the right side - she thinks the drop is
steeper.)
Thanks so very much
Zac and we had a fantastic time on Space Mountain today! That
was very thoughtful and kind of you and the girls (especially Maddy
since its her favorite) were talking about it all day!
After
our fun time on Space Mountain we headed for Buzz. We saw
Stitch playing around without ANY guests to play with so we headed
over. After a 'normal' picture Brinn pulled out the
toothbrushes and they both practiced some spontaneous oral hygiene.
:-D We should have quite a collection of pics for the dentist
on our return at this rate. Wonder if he'd knock a few hundred
off the bill... ;-)
We
all laughed and I think Brinn is getting used to pulling out that
toothbrush all over the park. We headed into Buzz - and you
guessed it. Walk-on! :-D It was closing in on
10am, and still no real lines to speak of. When we
walked by Astro Orbiter the line was maybe 10 people tops, and of
course the Transit Authority was walk on as always. Didn't do
Stitch or the Laugh Floor but I saw people just walking into both.
We
headed back to Fantasyland to ride the teacups and Pooh. Both
were very short waits and then it was off to Philharmagic.
That we timed perfectly and walked RIGHT into a show about to start.
The theatre was about 66% full at most.
So, the crowds are
still down from what I would expect for July. As we walked
past Peter Pan to ride Small World the wait was listed as 30 minutes
but the line didn't look that long yet. Small world was a
walk-on and oh so very cool on a hot and sunny day. Its really
not too bad today (around 85 so far I think) but not much breeze and
the direct sunlight is a killer as always!
After
Small World we decided we were hungry. It was about 11:15 or
so and we went to Pinocchio Haus for pizza, chicken nuggets and mac
and cheese for the girls. everything was good and again around
$30 total. We easily got a table near the windows overlooking
the start of Small World and the girls enjoyed waving to guests as
they passed by. |
