Well, I guess it had
to arrive --
our last morning on the ship! :-( We had to be up early for
a 6:45 breakfast in the Animators Palette before heading off the
ship. I was up at 5am to watch us pulling into port. Its
amazing watching them maneuver that huge ship so 'easily'.
They have everyone ready right there on the pier with forklifts ready
to go as soon as the ship is moored.
We did our final
packing and headed down for breakfast. It was
great as usual, and we said our final good-byes to Milan and
Maria. Back to the room to grab the bags and be out before
8am. Then down to deck 3 to wait only a few minutes before we
could disembark. It was VERY quick and painless. Zipped off
the ship, and they guide you to where the bags are stored. You
locate your bags by tag colors and stateroom number, and then call over
a porter to help move them to your bus/car/etc. We were going to
use a Budget rental car, so Tom, our very friendly and helpful porter,
loaded up the bags and moved us through customs and off to the rental
car tent. We were picked up by the Budget shuttle in just a few
minutes, zipped off to rent our vehicle, and on the road to WDW by 8:30
am! Now THAT was painless! Got a
nice Ford Bronco that
could easily carry all our luggage and arrived at the Boardwalk around
9:30am. Wonder of wonders our room was as requested - top floor -
Boardwalk view (great view of Epcot, Illuminations, and the Yacht
Club/Beach Club across the lake! AND, the room was
ready!!!! Woooo Hooooo!
Our luggage was delivered a short
time after we arrived at the room,
and while the walk from the elevator is fairly long, its SO worth it
for the view and great balcony. It runs all the way across from
the living room to the Master Bedroom. VERY nice. The girls
napped a bit while I unpacked, and then we headed to the pool around
noon. Grabbed a quick
bite to eat right there at the pool and the
girls enjoyed hot dogs while Kristen and I had ham and turkey
sandwiches that were very good. We enjoyed the pool for a
couple hours - the slide is GREAT! and then headed in to get
cleaned up and drive over to the Contemporary for dinner at Chef
Mickey's. We arrived about an hour early, so we took a trip on
the monorail to see the sites a bit. Came back to do some
shopping in those great Contemporary stores, and then checked in at
Chef Mickey's a bit early. Donald was there in
the lobby
and we no sooner sat down to wait than our pager went off. We
were quickly seated and enjoyed an excellent dinner and some fun
characters. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale were
there. The girls were quite excited to see the characters
again. We all love Chef Mickeys, and had a great time.
Walked out to the rental car, and then drove over to the Winn Dixie on
535 to get some supplies. Mainly water, soda and snacks for the
room.
OK - Have to be up early for Extra Magic Hour at Magic
Kingdom
tomorrow, so time for bed.
