We were getting tired, and
headed back to the room just as the weather started clearing up.
Figures! :-) After a nice nap, we headed to the Magic
Kingdom.
Tonight we watch SpectroMagic and Wishes! As we entered the
park
there were a bunch of characters out, and I think the girls managed to
get the entire cast of Robin Hood - Even Little John whom I had not
seen before. We also saw Daisy who the girls just love to
see. Oh -
and King Louie. They like him as well. They would have
loved to have
seen them all, but they stopped letting people in the lines.
So, it was off toward the Castle where Cinderella's Surprise
Celebration was JUST started. On the bus over the driver told us
they
had just extended the park hours until 11pm (from 10pm), and we could
see why. MAN was this park packed!!! I've never seen it so
crowded,
and that includes Christmas week. We shoehorned into a spot
and
watched the show. They really do a great job with this one, and I
noticed had changed it a bit to use a few more fireworks here and
there. I ran to Big Thunder for fast passes (with a 7:40
return time
at 5pm!) It was a MADHOUSE over there. Splash Mountain had
a return
time of 9:50pm and again - it was wall to wall people.
Worked my way back to the castle hub and found the girls
waiting on a
bench. We headed off for Tomorrowland where we intended to use
Madision certificate from last year when she was too short to
ride.
They had let us in the first part of the line, but bounced us at final
boarding. So Madison had received a Certificate to again next
trip and
it worked just like a Fast Pass. They even let us keep the
certificate, just wrote on the back that it had been redeemed.
Brinn
made it through the line, but chickened out at the last minute.
She
has in her head that she does not like this ride, and doesn't want to
try again. Maddy on the other hand has wanted to ride for ages,
and so
she and I got on to ride. Kristen decided to pass with Brinn
since she
finds this coaster a bit jerky. I didn't know until the ride was
done
whether or not Maddy liked it, but I was relieved to hear her saying
how great it was when we got off. She LOVED it, and its a new
favorite. We hope to do it again later this week. Maybe she
can even
convince her sister that its OK. :-)
Next we did Transit Authority and then on to the
Carousel of Progress.
I'm glad the girls like this one. Brinn really likes seeing how
things
have changed since 1900 and always asks lots of questions. Maddy
just
thinks its cool that the theatre turns! ;-)
Starting to get hungry, and its almost time for our 7:40 Big Thunder
return time. Headed off to try Pecos Bill's for dinner.
This was our
first time eating here, and it was good. Loved the fixin's bar
and
there was lots of seating. The kids hot dogs are
huge-mongous, and we
should have just gotten one kids meal. We'll know better next
time.
Used up the last of my Disney Rewards card here and had a whole $1 left
on it! ;-) It really was nice paying for so many meals with
rewards
dollars. I'll have to do this every year!
OK - time for Big Thunder. We were well into our hour fast pass
window, as it was about 8:15 or so. There was a 90 minute wait
when we
headed in, but Fast Pass had us on the train in less than 5
minutes.
We headed into Frontierland and stopped in the first place we found
where we could have front row seating for Spectromagic. It was
might
slim pickens already, as almost every spot was already taken. We
found
a slot right next to a cross walk and plopped down to wait. The
girls
made friends with a little girl named Katie, and they enjoyed each
other's company until the parade started. Then Katie sat between
them
to watch the parade. It was great as always, and I even got a few
decent picture of it this year. :-)
Said our goodbyes to Katie and her family and then headed
into the
Castle hub for a fireworks spot. It was wall to wall
people. I've
never seen anything like it! We found a standing spot along side
everyone else, and waited for Wishes to begin. Maddy still
doesn't
like fireworks and hid with her fingers in her ears for most of the
show. I picked Brinn up so she could see a bit better (Maddy
wanted NO
part of being picked up!) ;-) and she really liked it. It's
a great
fireworks show, but they have changed it since December. They no
longer shot off the fireworks all around you for the finale. I
really
liked that, and hope it comes back.
While much of the
crowd headed toward the exit, we headed to
Fantasyland. There we zipped into Mickey's Philharmagic and
waited for
the next show. The girls LOVED it (and up until now their had
been
thrilled with the 3D movies. It really is very well done, and we
all
left smiling. There was still a bit of time left, so we rode the
Carousel and then JUST made Winnie the Pooh before the 11pm
closing.
There were still TONS of people in the park, and it was tough going
down Main Street. We finally worked our way out of the park and
the
Boardwalk/YC/BC bus was not too bad. It also stopped at
Swan/Dolphin,
so we got off there and walked back to the room over the bridge.
Tomorrow is a pool day, and everyone can sleep in. And that is
exactly
what we plan to do! |
