Moon off the verandahUp early myself and out to enjoy the Verandah.  A beautiful moon over the water followed by a nice sunrise as I worked my my reports.  I love sitting out here.  Very calm and peaceful...

Today we are headed to Blue Lagoon.  We are taking a Disney excursion that includes a boat ride to/from Blue Lagoon Island and lunch.   Our excursion meets at 9:15am, and the Princesses will be down on Deck 3 midship at 9:00am.  So, we got up and ready for our beach day by about 8am.  We headed to Deck 9 for Breakfast and got there just ahead of the crowd.  Everything was very good, and I enjoyed a Krispy Creme in Moley's honor...  Or was it two?  Anyway, it/they were delicious!  :-D

Seeing the princesses... Whoa - those coverups are BRIGHT!We finished up in PLENTY of time to get down to see the princesses.  Kristen had to run back to the room with Brinn, but Maddy and I sat in the lobby and enjoyed the view out the portholes as we approached Nassau.   Around 8:40 people started lining up for the princesses so we jumped in line.  They showed up right at 9am, and each came down the stairs to take their various places in front of photography stations.   The crew have it all cordoned off and the line wraps up the hall.  We were only about four parties back since we only had 15 minutes.  I loved the way they did it.  They lead us from one princess to the next without waiting in another line.  Then on upstairs to get autographs/photos with more Disney leading ladies.  Today we enjoyed Cinderella, Snow White, Aurora and Belle (in her ball gown - very nice).  They upstairs they had Alice, Mulan and Wendy Darling - whom seemed to be on the move.. We had to catch her downstairs again.  It was great to maximize princess sightings in a minimal amount of time.  We were done seeing them all in 10 minutes!  :-)

Welcome to NassauOn to the excursion.  We had to meet in Waves to checkin for our excursion.  We were Mickey group and received our Mickey stickers and some towels to take along.  We followed our leader off ship to meet the excursion host who lead us through the port to our boat - the Calypso I.  An older boat and not too fast (thus the 45 minute trip time)  But they had tables set up for you to sit at with a good bad playing music and a nice sized dance floor where the guests enjoyed dancing, and some kids games like the Limbo and musical chairs.   That helped break up the trip along with the gorgeous scenery along the way.  Lots of construction and some truly magnificent buildings/homes going up.  The water here in crystal clear and a beautiful shade of turquoise.

I think the time to the island increased by about 10 minutes because we also stopped to pick up quite a few passengers from another stop.  Many of them seemed to be from the Atlantis.  There were people there for beach days as well as dolphin encounter tours.  While the boat wasn't packed, it was pretty full.

They also gave us 3 sets of four tickets.  One set was for lunch and two sets for drinks.  Either use those drink coupons (good for fruit punch) on the way to the island or on the island - they are not accepted on the return trip.  Water bottles (smaller size) were about $2 on the boat.

We arrived at the island around 11am.  It was beautiful there - the water was amazing.  There was an old pirate tower on the island and they had the dolphin encounter area off to the right (we did not do this, so I don't know much about it). Then off to the left were the beach areas, an outside bar, restrooms, and a covered area where lunch was served.   Very nice.  There were picnic tables and hammocks sprinkled throughout the island and we settled in a little cove that was GREAT for swimming with the girls.  Extremely calm and not too deep at all.   you could walk from one side to the other without a problem and there were very few fish (mainly minnows)  here and there.  Brinn is freaked out by fish, so no fish is good fish!  :-)   We stayed here for a couple hours and then headed back for lunch.  They had tubes ($10), and other things you could rent.  I saw snorkel gear, paddle boats and bikes, etc.  No water skis that I saw, but we did not walk around the entire island.

Front of the WonderLunch was very good.  They had a selection of ribs, chicken, burgers or hotdogs.  We had burgers and hotdogs - they looked good to us.  They had lots of fixings, you could choose from along with a couple sides you could get.  Things like fries, rice, pasta salad, salad, etc.  Everything was actually quite tasty and we used our drink coupons to get punch from the nearby bar.  That was good as well.

After we ate we headed to a beach closer to the dock.  We planned to catch the 2pm shuttle back (there was one more at 4pm).  We swam and played in the sand until just before 2, and then headed over to the boat.  Washed the sand off our feet and boarded getting the same table we had on the way out (chance really, we boarded close to first).  Had a wonderful ride back filled with music and the incredible view.  After docking we walked through several shops but not too much caught our eye.  It was fairly unexpected and nice that we didn't find the merchants too pushy this trip.  They'd ask once or twice and then take no for an answer.  Many didn't approach us at all.  And while we got about 25 offers to braid the girls hair, everyone again took no for an answer without problem.

Little feller waiting in our roomBack onboard and to our room just before 4pm.  We were all a bit tired so we napped until it was time to get ready for dinner.   That was a great idea - maybe I won't be falling asleep tonight during the Golden Mickeys!  :-)   Off to dinner at 5:45pm.  We went a tad wrinkled tonight - word to the wise - don't wait until JUST before dinner to try and iron!  The line was 10 people deep!  We went wrinkled!  ;-)

Tonight is pirate night, so the girls are decked out in their pirate dresses and hats.  They looked so cute!  We are eating in Animator's Palette tonight so we headed in there.  We beat Belle and crew this evening and started to look over the menu, order drinks and eat some bread.  Everyone was pretty hungry.

After dinner at Animator's PaletteBelle showed up a couple minutes later and told us they had been playing Bingo and it was running a tad late.  Jay and Mik were still down there finishing up but would be along soon.  No worries.  We are in no hurry!  So we chatted, and soon Jay and Mik showed up - alas no big win though...

Girls join Ariel in the main lobbyWe heard about the various choices from Watt and Zoltan was very attentive in bringing our drinks, etc.   Soon we were enjoying another wonderful meal and hearing about each other's day.  I'll leave Belle's details for her trip report!  ;-)

After dinner we all headed to Shutters to check out our pictures.  We like several of the shots, but will be pretty picky this year.  We still haven't done anything with all the shots we bought last year!  So we gathered them together, and set them aside for now... We'll check them out again tomorrow.

Mik and Brinn at a Golden Mickey interviewWe decided to meet back up near the stores to go to the Golden Mickey's together.   It worked out great because they were just starting up the 'intervews' as we were walking past.  They saw the girls and asked them if they would like to be part of the show.  Brinn and Mik were excited to do it, but Maddy chickened out.   They were so cute up there talking to 'Rowna'  and did a great job.  Kristen ran in to see them on the big screen while I stayed to take pictures.   After that, Kristen had some seats for us all and we headed in to see the show.

Pirate Treasure treatsThis was a really fun show with lots of singing and characters.  Definitely a 'don't miss it' production!   They kids loved it, and after it was over we headed upstairs for the Pirates in the Caribbean party.  Again, we arrived a bit early and got a great table over on the side.  Grabbed some drinks and then the girls were already out on the dance floor.  I think those outfits came in handy again - the girls were asked if they would like to help start the show by playing Pirate Says and then doing the Macarena.   Maddy was going to pass again, but had time to warm up to dancing a bit and went out there too.  Other than a quick run to the bathroom for Maddy just after they got started, all went very well!  ;-)  Kristen recognized the 'dance' she was doing was NOT the Macarena and zipped her off to the luckily close by restroom!  She was back in no time.  :-)

Monkey Mascot They had a blast, and afterwards spent the entire night just dancing away.  It was a lot of fun and there are good guys and bad guys and lots of fun and surprises.  Definitely another must do.  Oh, and the fireworks were awesome as well!  We stayed until close to the end and even enjoyed a few great desserts from the large buffet set up there on deck.  (Thanks for feeding us Jay! - How you carried four plates full of desserts I'll never know!)  :-)

I saw Scallywag Sally (I think that was her name!) out talking to the girls again.  This is the woman that picked them to start the show.  She asked for their names and room numbers.  She said she wanted to send something to their room the next day.  Even if she doesn't the girls had a wonderful time, and we told her as much - and thanked her for the great party.

OK - its mighty late.  We all headed down together, and the girls got to show Mik our room.  Then it was off to bed with Castaway Cay dreams on the way.
