The girls were trying to figure out
where we were going, and who we were going to see (We wouldn't tell them)
Goofy was in the waiting area, and they were excited to see him,
but when they sat us immediately and the little one saw Pooh, it was quite
the scene! She started yelling out the character's names. :-)
POOH! TIGGER!! EEYORE! While we shushed her just
a bit, a nice CM came over and reassured her that all the characters would
come over to her table, but it might be a few minutes. Brinn was excited
too, just not quite as 'vocal' :-) It was fun to surprise them
and see their reactions.
Dinner was wonderful. Both Kristen ad I thought this was the best
WDW buffet yet. The prime rib was delicious (as was everything we
tried) and the desserts were very good as well (the bread pudding
with vanilla sauce was Kristen's favorite). The characters were friendly
and came back for pictures a couple times. We all had a great time.
It was still pretty early when we finished, so we decided we could
head to the Magic Kingdom tonight, and do Typhoon Lagoon Friday before
leaving for my brother Derek's house in Ocala.
Jumped on
the monorail and Brinn again asked to sit up front, which they let us do.
We were only riding to the Magic Kingdom, but it was still a great
view. Zipped on into the park and jumped on the train. We rode
to Mickey's Toon Town Fair. The girls enjoyed wandering through Mickey
and Minnie's homes and Dad got to snap lots of photos. Next
we toured Donald's boat, but with the water still off, it was kind of boring
for the girls. On to Goofy's Barnstormer, which they both love. Its
a fun little coaster, but seems so short after riding the much, much longer
Big Thunder Railroad.
We then took the back path to Space Mountain, but the wait was 40 minutes
and the fast passes were gone. Maddy is too little for this ride and
Brinn isn't quite ready to tackle it yet either. We will probably
come back to the MK one day next week to see Cinderella's show and ride
Space Mountain.
Walked toward Fantasyland, and took a spin on the teacups. Then
we rode Pooh, with maybe a 10 - 15 minute standby wait. Tried to
do Peter Pan, but the line was a little too long. It was just about
parade time by now, so we quickly headed for Big Thunder Railroad while
we could still get through. It was a walkon, and great fun in the
dark. Brinn was quite surprised, "It's MUCH scarier in the DARK!".
They still both loved it though. After that we headed to Adventure
land. Brinn and I did Pirates, while Mom and Maddy did the Magic
carpet ride. Pirates was EMPTY, and we had a car all to ourselves.
We then headed to the Magic carpet ride and joined Mom and Maddy for
one last flight. We headed out of the park to beat the fireworks crowds.
Caught the Monorail and rode back to Grand Floridian. Retrieved
our car and headed home.
It was a great evening, and all pretty much spur of the moment decisions.
Off to bed, and we checkout tomorrow. :-( But we check
in to Beach Club Villas on Sunday, so :-). And the girls get to see
Unca Derek, and sleep in two whole days! :-)
