I
woke up dark and early Friday morning! :-) It was 5am when I got
up and worked on the trip report for a bit, until it started to get
light out. I wanted to beachcomb a bit this morning along with
get some sunrise pictures. Headed out around 6am, and headed down
to the beach. I found a few shells, but nothing
spectacular. When the sun started to come up it was quite
beautiful and the pictures just don’t do it justice.
I took tons of pictures and headed
back up to the room. I assumed everyone would still be sleeping,
but the whole family had been up (the girls woke Kristen up) and had
watched the sunrise from he balcony. We had some breakfast in the
room, and then headed out to the pool shortly after 8am. We got a
great table with Umbrella at the pool area, but MANY chairs and tables
were marked with towels with no one there.
The pool seemed a bit cooler this morning, but still very warm.
The slide opened up at 9am and the girls hit that hard and heavy for
quite a while. It’s a fun slide, and you can move right along if
you lay on your back (this is from personal experience!)
:-) Eb and Flo’s opened up at 9am as well, and Kristen
jumped in line to sign the kids up for the Un-birthday party.
Each day at 2pm they have a party for the kids (kids only) for an
hour. This is a free activity that is very popular and the CM at
Eb and Flo’s said that it fills up quickly. Best to be there at
9am. And to get a hour of free babysitting is quick a perk!
:-)
We swam and swam,
and Maddy set a consecutive number of slide rides record! :-) She
LOVES this slide and just did it again and again. We played in
the pool for quite a while and then decided to head down to the beach
for a while. We had a great time
playing in the waves and the sand. The girls started playing tag
with the waves, and we even got Brinn out a ways. (They are both
a bit scared of the ocean) Kristen ran back for the camera so we
could get a few pictures on the beach. After a while Maddy was
showing a bit of crankiness, so I took her back to the room for a
nap. I checked the dryer, but it was the same one and still
squeaking louder than ever. I
called maintenance and they were there within 30 minutes to install
another washer/dryer. Problem was that this machine had a broken
water temperature selector! :-) Only hot water... I
called back and told them about the problem, but also said that it
wasn’t an immediate problem for us – we’d make due. It took
about 30 minutes to get the old unit out and the new one in, and we’ll
wait on the colored laundry. :-) At least we can dry things
now.
