  Santa DID find us!

Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. Yum!

Snow White was here!

...and she even Colored with us!

Breakfast with Alice in Wonderland

Merry Christmas!!  For once I wasn't the first one up.  Maddy discovered that Santa HAD found us around 6:30 am.  She was very excited and quickly woke up her sister.  They attacked their stockings while the adults 'came to'.  :-)

After a fun time tearing into their gifts we cleaned up the room as best we could and let the girls play with their new toys for awhile.  Grabbed some coffee from Gasparilla's Cafe to get us moving and enjoyed the morning until it was time for our late breakfast at 1900 Park Fare.  We love this buffet (our favorite onsite breakfast buffet) - the characters are just a bonus for the kids!  :-)  The line was out the door when we arrived, but the girls loved the wait.  Snow White was in the hall area taking pictures and sitting with the kids coloring pictures.  Brinn and Maddy loved sitting next to her as they all colored a picture.  It's very exciting to color with a princess!  :-)

Inside we enjoyed a great breakfast (Love those made to order omelets and Mickey Waffles) as well as seeing Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter, Pooh and Eeyore.  (I think they are really overselling Pooh and friends - I liked 1900 Park Fare better when we saw Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Pinocchio and Geppetto.   Pooh is great, but he's all over the place!  :-)  That's OK - the girls love seeing him!

After another super meal, (I foresee a weight-loss resolution for the new year...) I called over to the Spa to use my favorite Christmas gift!  Kristen had gotten me a gift certificate for a Back, Neck and Head Massage.  Never had a real massage before and I was tense enough to really need one! :-)  They had an appointment almost immediately, so the girls headed back upstairs to play again while I walked over to the Spa.  Very nice, and so relaxing inside.  For those that have wondered about the process I'll fill you in.  They give you a robe and sandals and you get a locker to leave all your clothes, etc. in.  There is a separate men and women's locker area and then a nice waiting room where you wait for your attendant.  My CM was Gwen, and she was extremely nice and friendly.  They take you to a private room and then leave while to lay down on the massage table under a sheet (or blanket if you are chilly).  The lights are low and relaxing with 'plinky-plunky' music playing softly in the background.  Very nice.  You ring a bell when you are all situated and they come back in to start the massage.  Mine was a 25-minute massage and seemed to go altogether too quickly!  :-)  I talked with Gwen a bit and she was working until around 1 or 2 that day and then headed home to Tampa for Christmas with her family.  I asked about the difficulty of working Christmas, but she had wanted to work since they get time and a half on holidays.  Disney must really spend the big bucks on Holidays for employee wages!   I think every CM in the company has to be there - it was so busy everywhere!

After my time was up, I could have used the spa all day if I liked.  There are tons of exercise machines, sauna, etc. but we had plans so that wasn't an option for me.  It would have been nice though... A great way to spend a nice relaxing day in WDW.  Maybe next time!  I'd highly recommend the spa to anyone!

Walked back, and called the girls down to the lobby while I had them bring around the van.  It was time to go and spend those saved up Disney Dollars at Downtown Disney!   It was busy there, but nothing like the parks would be.  We easily found a decent parking space, and headed in to World of Disney.  We ended up bouncing back and forth from World of Disney to the Once Upon a Toy store.   Until the girls found everything they wanted to buy.  It is amazing how much more picky they become when the money is THEIRS to spend.  Maddy still wanted everything, but Brinn was quite frugal.  She left with quite a bit remaining to be spent in the parks on some items she didn't see at  the Downtown Disney stores.  My dilemma will be getting everything in the van for the trip back home.  All those boxes have GOT to go!  :-)

When we returned to the GF, we took several pictures of the girls in their Christmas dresses.  In the coach out front.  Near the white wicker deer in the poinsettia patches.  In front of the multitude of trees and flowers around the lobby and near the life-size Gingerbread house.

After dinner the family gathered around the GF Tree
It was almost time for dinner at Narcoossee's and I received a phone call from my brother, Derek, that they were running late.  (Drove from Fort Myers to Ocala and back to Orlando that day, whew!)  We went to the restaurant and told them the last two in the party would be a bit late.  We sat down in a great spot with a nice view of the castle.  Our waiter was very friendly and attentive, and got us all settled while we waited for my brother and his girlfriend, Tonya,  to arrive.  I eventually headed out to meet them in the lobby (thank goodness for cell phones) and walked them back to the restaurant.  Mom had not seen Derek in a couple years, so she was very excited.  We all ordered and had a wonderful meal.  No one had room for dessert so we headed back to the lobby for more family pictures around the tree (and Santa's chair).  It was a great family Christmas!  We headed back to the room to exchange gifts and broke things up around 9pm.  Derek and Tonya still had to drive back to Ocala that night.  A very long day for them!  The girls were tired, and we all got ready for bed after watching the MK fireworks from our balcony (through several trees, but we could still see them!)  :-)

Kristen and I talked schedule - and decide to nix the Breakfastosaurus Priority seating the next morning and the Adventures in Cooking kids class the following day.  We were getting overwhelmed with meals/events, and needed some sleep-in and relaxation time.  I called Disney Dining and released our reservations... Hope someone was able to sneak in at the last minute on these!

Off to bed - It was a magical Disney Christmas!
