We thought about going to Downtown Disney,
but I don't think I could have fit another piece of gum in that van.
Since they don't even SELL gum on Disney property, we decided to just head
on off to Ocala and get to my brother's early. We called ahead to
warn him, and he said that he had a friend over to watch football, but that
was no problem. We were all tired, and needed a nap, so we just zipped
into the spare bedroom and crashed for a couple hours. I think the
week was catching up with all of us!
We stayed in that night and enjoyed Domino's Pizza and watched Ice Age.
We all caught up, and then Derek and I stayed up to try out several of
his new XBox games before hitting the sack. He had to go to work
in the am, and we would be hitting the road then as well.
We got up around 6am, and were on the road by 7am. It was freezing
outside (literally!). There was a heavy frost on the van and we had
to wait for it to clear off before heading out (the ice scraper was BURIED).
The drive home was not really bad at all, and we broke it down into two
days. The first day we drove to Emporia, VA. And the next day
(New Year's Eve) we were home before 4pm. Not too bad! The weather
was dry the entire way home, and the traffic wasn't terrible, except in a
few spots. I'd drive again if I had to, but prefer to fly.
We had a wonderful trip, and really enjoyed the Christmas themeing at
WDW. Now, I have to get going on those plans for July!!! :-)
If you've made it this far, thanks so much for sharing our vacation with
us! Until next time!!
