Spinning in a teacup!

Look who we found!

Love them all, but Eeyore is favorite!
Woke bright and early (5:30am) and got ready for Day 2.  Let the girls sleep until 6:30 while we got everything ready to go.  There were a few more animals out this morning  including a couple Giraffes and three zebras.  The girls were very excited to see the Giraffes but we had to get on the road.  Early checkin at Villas at the Wilderness Lodge (VWL) and off to the Magic Kingdom (MK) for the day.  (Or as much of the day as the girls could take!)

Bell services was great and had us loaded up and ready to hit the road in no time. We made excellent time getting to the Wilderness Lodge to checkin and the CM here (missed his name, but Kristen is pretty sure it was Cody) was MUCH more pleasant than Rosa at AKL.  He earned the second CM appreciation card we gave out.  Brinn suggested giving him one because he was so thoughtful toward both girls.  The first card went to another gentleman at the Contemporary that went out of his way to help us get a family picture, and talked to the girls for awhile.  Very pleasant man who was just a very friendly sort.   Anyway, back to the VWL.  The room was not ready (again as expected) and after a couple trips in to get things we forgot in our stored luggage we were all set.  Just call in to see when room was ready.

About then the Character Caravan showed up.  (I'm sure it was great, but I still hate the thing since it 'replaced' early entry.)  Pluto, Pinochio, and the Fox and Cat from Pinochio were here today.  Brinn was into the characters but Madison was not ready for these guys.  Would not get her picture taken with any of them.  This is a first this year.  She has loved all characters up to this year.  Not sure if she is getting shyer, or if it is just because she doesn't feel well.  We'll see as she starts feeling better.

Caught the first boat to MK, and got there just as they started letting people into the parks (about 10 minutes before 9am).   Security check goes really quickly, but they really do check everything.  Zipped into the parks and headed for Fantasy Land.  Ended up waiting about 8 minutes for the rope drop (hadn't expected that).  Started out on Dumbo, then Peter Pan, Carousel, Pooh and Tea cups a couple times.  In between tea cup rides, Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore came out and stood near the entrance to Toon Town Fair.  Got a picture with Tigger (these were some characters that excited Maddy) and then headed over to Pooh and Eeyore's line.  You could get a picture with both Pooh and Eeyore because the lines were pretty short.  As we got our turn, Tigger bounced on over as well!  This turned out to be one of those magical Disney moments.  Got a picture of the girls with all three characters together.  Kristen even got into the act and I got a great shot of her with Pooh, Eeyore (her favorite) and Tigger!

Now its time for the Princess Breakfast!  Brinn backed out of wearing her Jasmine outfit today, but that's OK.  We are doing the new Princess Storybook Breakfast next week, and Jasmine (Brinn's favorite) has been attending this Epcot Breakfast.  We'll talk her into wearing it then.  After we checked in, we stood in line to see the Fairy Godmother.   She was very sweet, but Maddy was back to shy again.   Headed upstairs fairly quickly, and the girls were excited to see Cinderella, Snow White, Mary Poppins, Belle and Aurora.  They all came around fairly soon after we arrived, and the girls loved them all.  We had nice Princess t-shirts that Kristen found at the Disney Store;  several princesses with the castle in the background.  All the princesses we're quite impressed with the shirts.  Thought they were a great idea.

Maddy was getting fairly cranky.  Her sore throat was really bothering her now.  Everything hurt, but she was hungry.  We asked the waitress if she could pass on breakfast, but she said we'd be charged anyway.  It turned out OK, because Maddy seemed to be able to eat pancakes and loved the bacon.  Go figure!  :-)  I think she was getting pretty hungry by now.  The waitress was very thoughtful and brought out a banana as well (not a typical item).  Maddy ended the meal by falling asleep on my lap and then switched to Kristen while I called to check on the room.  It was only 11am, but they said they would assign a housekeeper right away and to call back in an hour.  (Very thoughful of them!)

Maddy woke up as we left, and wanted to go on Small World.  We did that and then Brinn and I did Haunted Mansion.  Maddy wanted nothing to do with the mansion.  We passed though several shops, and as a rainshower blew in we headed up Mainstreet.  Bought the girls a couple Mickey/Minnie balloons ($5 each) and then caught the next boat back to Wilderness Lodge.   It took a bit since it goes to Fort Wilderness first.  Nice ride.  This was another mild day.  Very comfortable.

Back to the lodge, and called about room assignment.  Room was ready and went right up.   I had sent in a faxed room request a couple days earlier, and they picked the perfect room.   It overlooks the quiet pool  and we can even see some of the lake.  The room is even close to the elevators - we were extremely

impressed.  Seemed even larger than it did when we toured last year.  Wow!  So glad we joined DVC!  As we came in the room, the maid had rolled up and laid out towels to display a Mickey head and say "HI".  Very cute!

I took a ton of pictures of the room and then we put the girls in for a nap.   Unpacked and setup everything while the girls slept.   Very pleasant afternoon just enjoying the room and balcony.

Cindy and the girls!

Our Welcome Home

Decided to eat at Roaring Fork and had a quick pricy meal.  $47 bucks including two refillable mugs ($9.99 each).  Then while the girls hit the pool, I headed out to buy groceries.  This NEVER happens at home, but Kristen would have gotten lost for sure!  :-)  I went to a Winn Dixie and bought about $80 worth of supplies.  I think I saved that much in bottled water alone!  :-)  I bought 12 bottles for less than 2 bought in the parks!   Came back and the Bellhops even brought up the groceries.  I'm spending a fortune on tips!  :-)  (But it is well worth it sometimes...)

The girls had just returned from the pool and had a grand time.  They were all COLD, if you could believe that!  It was very mild again today.  Supposed to get back to normal soon, but I can sure wait!  :-)  Put away the groceries, and got the girls ready for bed.  Then I enjoyed the HUGE Jacuzzi tub followed by Kristen's turn.  Amazingly relaxing.  OK, time to type up todays report and here we are.  A pleasant, but pretty laid back day.  Just what the doctor ordered.

Tomorrow we have the Alice Teaparty at the Grand Floridian.   Girls are looking forward to this.

Goodnight!
