December 2009 photowalk meets

Several people have asked about a photowalk this December during the Fortnight Of A Million Meets. Since the AllEars photo bloggers won't be around during the second weekend of December, roguepony and I have decided to take over the reins and try to do one ourselves.

Here are the details:

Animal Kingdom photowalk, Monday, Dec. 14, 9 - 11 am

After entering the park, head to the left. We'll meet in the area between the restrooms and the path to Rainforest Cafe. We'll explore the Oasis and those obscure paths around the Tree of Life. We'll finish up on the path from Africa to Asia near Tamu Tamu refreshments; the goal is to arrive in time for the 11 am appearance of Divine.

(If you have a better idea for a route, I'm open to suggestions. For example, there may not be enough light in the Oasis in the morning, so maybe heading for another area would be better.)

Note that the park opens at 8 am for Extra Magic Hours. When you RSVP, please note if you will not be able to arrive early. If everyone arrives before 9, we'll take off sooner.


Special bonus photowalk:

Friday, Dec. 11, 8:30 - 11 am: Christmas walk and ride

Meet inside the main building of the Polynesian on the upper level near the monorail. We'll spend about 45 minutes there enjoying the Christmas decorations. We'll then ride the monorail to the Grand Floridian and repeat the process. Finally, we'll take the monorail to the TTC where we'll head over to Epcot in time for WDW Today's Spaceship Earth meet.

If you need breakfast, meet us at Captain Cook's at 7:15 am. Sunrise is at 7:08 am so there should be a good photo op beforehand.

I vote you meet up before the sun rises. For a nominal fee you can fly, me, Barrie, and Scott to WDW, get us hotel rooms, buy us food, and park tickets. We'll lead the photo walk in exchange. It's a fantastic offer.

Hey, I'll already be down there, Dennis, so I'll just room with you and you only need to cover my monthly bills. Yep, a good deal all around. Wish I could join you but I'll be seeing you for the Pixelmania fun the week before.

It was a great time and, yes, it was cold. It's been warm this fall so far at WDW, maybe you'll get some hot weather for this one.

How about you ride down with us, have one of the beds, we'll bring you food back, and if we do the resorts, you don't need a park ticket.

Hey, for a free trip to WDW, I'll wear my red Mickey pants!

Erin promised to wear those last year and then the near freezing temperatures put an end to those thoughts. Hope it's much warmer this year.
