According to Screamscape, it looks like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad might not be reopening after the rehab. It seems it is dependant on the Disneyland accident investigation.
And, it looks like they are a bit more committed to making Stitch the feature of Alien Encounter. And while they are rehabing it, CoP and Timekeeper may be open on a more regular basis.
Check it out here: Screamscape rumors (http://www.screamscape.com/html/walt_disney_world.html)

Thanks for the update. It seems that more and more are closing - I hope most will stay open long enough for my next trip!!
BTMRR is one of my favorite rides! It's the only ride that I actually laugh like a child while riding! I'm sad it won't be open.

That's interesting about BTMRR. I hope they do keep it closed down until they are sure they understand what went wrong in CA and how to fix it.
And wdwig.com is reporting that Alien Encounter will close October 12 for the redevelopment as a Stitch-based attraction. Seems like that would be a better fit for the Magic Kingdom.

You're right Sandar! Again with the changes...I really didn't like when they put Iago (sp?) as the main character in the Tiki Room. I really didn't like that 'change'. But I've gottenused to it now and actually like the modern version. I worried that Disney would change many of their attractions to just be commercials for their animated movies! Well - DUH! That is really why Disneyland was developed and centered around. I was not impressed with Alien Encounter - once was enough, but perhaps with the addition/change of Stitch in the mix it can appeal to the younger audiences and the Imagineers will have a chance to make it better. I would still love to see them re-open 20,000 with either an Ariel theme or Atlantis - and perhaps now it would be better with a Nemo theme.

Thats really disappointing news about BTMRR, that's the only ride I really love at the MK, but I'm glad that they are checking on the safety.
I know I'm in the minority but I really liked Alien Encounter; it's different. Oh well, C'est la vie!!
Have to agree with you Nancy, I would really like to see them re-open 20,000 Leagues (I knew what you meant :) ). As for Iago in the Tiki Room, if you ever get to DL, they still have the original.
Enjoy!

I'm sorry to hear about BTMRR, but safety is always paramount. As far as AE, it was OK, but I think a Stitch attraction would be nice. In the meantime, having CoP and timekeeper open will be very nice.
We will miss BTMRR and I would love to see 20,000 back again, but please keep Timekeeper

Sure you knew....I could tell from the glasses you wear......er, your avatar photo.
I love the quote you've got at the end of your posts and hope you don't mind that I passed it along to my family. I'm a PK and Dad would get a kick out of the sentiment.

Scamp wanted to try AE and so did Tramp - I tried it once and screamed my lungs out - now that I know what to expect I was going to try it again and see if I still screamed - oh well

I'm disappointed to hear about BTMRR, we love that ride. Of course, safety is the number one priority. I've never been on AE, I was too chicken.

I never liked AE, anyways. I didn't think it was scary, I kind of thought it was lame. LoL. I L-O-V-E stitch, though, so I can't wait for what they put in there!
Sad about BTMRR... but yeah, definately safety is the most important thing.

I am very sorry to hear of BTMRR, however, I do agree with the comments. Safety is a priority. I just feel really bad for those going and not being able to enjoy. This became my 6 year old's favorite ride. I don't think he needs to know this information just yet.
