I wanted to warn anyone thinking of seing this over the holiday weekend -
DON'T.

This is the worst movie of the summer! (And we see at least one movie a weekend.)

The accents are horrible and the story is plodding. Several of the characters are more like grotesque caricatures than actual people.

I think children would find the movie disturbing. One child in the movie has her facial features fall off into the mud right before she transforms into the gingerbread man - all caused by a crow shaking mud on her.

So go see 40-Yearr Old Virgin or Wedding Crashers if you haven't already.
Both are a hoot!!

I have to agree with you. We saw it last weekend and my husband said that if he knew that was what the movie was like he would have paid to have gone and seen anything else. He actually thought Patrick Stewart was in it (one of the clips had a man that really looked like him) and that was why he went but it was just too freaky. The whole horse scene was the one that freaked him out more than any other! Not one of the better choices. I should have known when the first trailer I see for the movie is the week before it is released - I should have known that it didn't have blockbuster written all over it!

The horse scene was distubing too. As were the torture chamber scene - especially the one involving the kitten. Totally unecessary!

try reading Grimms fairy tales - the original versions - it'll make your hair stand on end

We've sugar coated the versions we tell our children - good thing too - wow!!
