Pixie P,

We have the same trouble with our animals. We won't let anyone but the kennels watch our crazy dog, and we normally have to drop her off the day before, and pick her up the day after. We then have to modify work schedules to accomodate this.

Pixie P,

We have the same trouble with our animals. We won't let anyone but the kennels watch our crazy dog, and we normally have to drop her off the day before, and pick her up the day after. We then have to modify work schedules to accomodate this.

We have so many animals for her to take care of~

3 dogs, 2 cats, several birds, ducks, chickens, pigeons, rabbits, fish, horses, She also gets the mail. She comes by 2 times a day and then I have someone else stop by in the afternoon to let the dog out.

Our pet sitter doesn't charge us because we take care of her ranch when she goes away... and she has 30 something horses, cows, goats, chickens... and sooooo on!!!

It's so much WORK to go on vacation!

Well, we only have a reg. fish tank. I'm not even sure what kind of fish is in there. Erin and the kids take care of that. But we do have a pond out front... w/ all kinds of fish in it, if you like to fish!! I'll take a picture of my house w/ the pond and post it in the photo gallery for you to see.

So you can take care of my horses? Do you own horses???

Well, the goats and cows are kept down at the ranch... not at the house... so really I consider the other place the farm!

The horses go between the 2 places.

:curtsy: thank you!!

Beside a few rude neighbors, we love it out here.

The day we were moving in, one of our neighbors just helped himself to the pond... in the front yard... starting fishing and had his dog swimming. I thought that was rather odd, considering the least he could do was introduce himself to us. So after a while Erin walked out to say hi.... and this man says... I have permission to fish here.
Erin said that's fine but Mary moved... but he could cont. to fish if he didn't bring his dog back. Erin explained we have 3 dogs, 3 kids and outside dogs just didn't mix in well.

3 days later the same man came back fishing w/ his dog. When erin walked out he said, I have permission from Mary to fish here. Erin laughed and said, Mary moved out.... but again as long as you keep your dog home, you can fish. He yells at Erin that he is retired and he and his dog do everything together. He walks off.

A week later the same man comes by to fish w/ his dog. Erin at this point had had enough... walks outside and wasn't so friendly. Erin starts off saying, Now you're going to make me be an "beep, means bad word  } and now you don't have permission to fish! Erin explains it's our property and he was trying to be nice but he clearly wanted to push the issue.

Then our neighbor across the street would let her 3 dogs swim in the pond almost everyday. When her one dog growled at Justin... I was going to put a stop to her letting her dogs swim.

She stood in our yard and argued w/ me that HER dogs have swam in our pond for 18 years and she wasn't going to stop them.

Ok, for starters her dogs aren't 18 years old. She says, but you're new here, and we've lived here 18 years.

And??? That means that you can use MY property as you wish?

After we went round and round about her dogs NOT using the pond... She was actually telling me she was going to cont. to let her dogs swim in our pond... reguardless. I mean is it me or do people really agrue that they can use your property as they wish???? :x

I told her, then I would send my 3 kids over to ride her horses... I mean what's mine is yours and what is yours is mine right??

She stormed off.

Still a year later they 'let' their dogs swim when they think we're not home.

I went out yesterday and the kids were home... and these lovely folks stood at the road to let the dogs swim, until Kristin stepped outside on the porch.

Another neighbor would let her dog swim and when Erin asks her to remove her dog.... she yells F*** you! I kid you not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now the neighbors all take turns standing in the road staring at us. It's freaky!! Our local police dept. warned us that the people here are strange, they think it's in the water! :P Justin is on the mounted Patrol so we talked w/ the officers about them. We can do something legally about it, but we've tried to keep things quiet, but they are pushing my NY buttons!

Now that I've rambled on and on about something you didn't care to read... I'm sorry... I'm venting!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the therapy!

Oh my, they are NUTS. I suppose fencing would be wayyy too expensive too. My sympathies. I guess such a lovely place is not without its trials. :(

You really have to wonder about people who can't grasp the concept of 'private property'. It's such a shame, because it would be so nice to have friendly neighbors, not rude ones.

MissBianca

Robin, I would bet you anything they are perfectly aware of the concept when it comes to THEIR property. Rude is just rude.

Personally, I think a sign that says 'Beware of Pirahnas!' would be amusing.
