Have you ever stayed at a Disney Resort that has really bad transportation options? We are hoping to stay at Wilderness Lodge next year & worry about the bus transportation.

Hi Margaret:
We've stayed at Wilderness Lodge before and will return next trip and we had no problem with transportation. We took the boat over to MK and monorail etc. easy enough (and the boats run very often). You could walk to FW from there. The busses were always at the stops when we got there and we didn't have to wait long at all.
We stayed at Coronado Springs before and again, our room was close to Bus Stop 2 and we never waited more then 5 minutes for any bus.
Polynesian of course, is a monorail resort so you can take that around the loop and get to the Transportation Center and to Epcot.
We've never had a problem with the busses - just one busy Easter vacation we were packed in to one bus coming back to our resort but that was the only problem ever.

The All-Star resorts probably have the worst transportation of any Disney resort.
The All-Star resorts are totally land-locked, meaning no boat or monorail transportation options exist for them. Certainly there are several other land-locked resorts (CSR, CBR, AKL), but there are three All-Stars, each with nearly 2,000 rooms, and yet they still share busses. So while 2,000 rooms at CBR take a bus, and 2,000 rooms at CSR take a bus, and 1,300 rooms at AKL take a bus, the All-Stars take a bus and split it for 6,000 rooms.
I've heard people say "We never had a problem with the busses at the All-Stars", but I have, and I'll never stay there again without my own wheels.

Hi Margaret,
We've stayed at the WL twice and have never had any trouble with buses there. Out of 10 days this past summer there was only once we ahd to wait more than 5 minutes for a bus.

Ok, that would be me! Our only problem with the busses for Allstars, is after the parks closed. The busses are packed. So, we either head out of the parks a little bit earlier, or linger a little bit later.
I had terrible experience with the busses at CBR. My friend and I waited for a bus that both of us would fit on for 35 minutes. We finally gave up and drove the car.
I have stayed at WL one and had no problems,BUT..................Last year we visited there , late in he evening and it was raining (in December even, (chilly)) and we got trapped except for using the bus service,,,,and we waited for what seemed like forever

The beach club is the worst for busses!! You share with 5 resorts (Swan, DOlphon, BoardWalk, Yacht Club and Beach CLub) and often have to stand and we waited 45 minutes at Downtown Disney for a bus one night and lucky the board walk has its own busses at night for Downtown and we ended up taking a Boardwalk bus back to the resort. (And walked the rest of the way) To magic kingdom we was standing room only many times and the worst of all experiences was the E night. We decided at midnight we was too tired and went to the bus stop. We just missed our bus. The next one didnt show up until after 1am. Because of this I will never ever go with out a car for downtown disney and E nights. I dont mind standing but I do expect more buses, This was in May so maybe that makes a difference? The driver said because they are so far off to their own you will always share with the other resorts too. It seems like Swan and Dolphin always get on first too.

Haven't noticed that during our trips at BCV.... :( but then we haven't done an e night , We are staying at BWV this year, so we usually walk to MGM and Epcot anyway
