View Full Version : Tagrel.com and a slooooooww connection. . . Suggestions?

As you may have noticed on other boards, I'm bringing a Disney novice to WDW at Mousefest. Now, he can't be converted until he breathes the WDW atmosphere, but he does enjoy planning (yay!) and he has been trying to read our forums.

But every time he loads a thread, his IE browser locks up (in all windows) :roll:

Since his computer is huge and well-administered, I think this is related to his dial-up internet connection. :? Any suggestions for resolving this one?

He needs to be in maxamize so the side stuff does not slow him down. Also my need to check his cookie settings. Ok those are my two best hints!

No suggestions from me other than what BA said and for him to switch to dsl.

Odd...I wonder if it could be the trip counters...tripping him up. Have him check to see if he's got the lastest Java loaded.

Any thread with large embedded graphics can slow the loading of a page to a crawl too, but it shouldn't actually 'lock up' the computer.

I was thinking the Java countdown timers too. Have him make sure he has the latest JVM from Sun.

Yes, Mickeefan, he has a whole Gigabyte of RAM. He has a screaming machine...

It probably is the countdown counters--they still give me problems sometimes and I do have the latest java.
