Rumor: Next DVC at Contempory

I LIKE this rumor... Love to have a DVC on the Monorail line and walking distance to the MK! :mickey:

Current rumor (and nothing more) says that one of the garden wings of the Contemporary would be demolished and 4 or 5 story DVC units built. This would supposedly happen sometime after SSR.

Opinions? I know I'd be hard pressed NOT to do an add on! Love to own there! :)

I'm not a DVC member, but I have to say I think it's long overdue to have a DVC property on the monorail.

It's a great idea to have DVC villas at each of the monorail resorts, but I'm also willing to bet that eventually Disney will wise up and build an entire DVC resort on the monorail. There is ample space next to Wilderness Lodge in the area that was originally reserved for the Persian Resort, and still more empty space between Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom.

That would be almost as good as building one at the Poly, or between the Poly and the GF. I'm with you Tagrel, I think that would be a must add situation.

I'd love to stay there, but the thing that would make me buy another 200 + point contract would be an Animal Kingdom Lodge DVC. :mrgreen: I might even go into debt for that one. :?

Joe - I think MANY people would LOVE a DVC at the Poly - Maybe someday! :)

Alicia - AKL would be very popular too.

After BCV sold out so fast and the fact that Disney can build these 'add on' DVC resorts quicker and cheaper I'd be surprised if they DON'T build more at the deluxe resorts. I'll bet a monorail DVC would sellout quicker than any other DVC!

I think it's smart thinking on Disney's part :wink: The DVC locations are often near or at capacity AND the Contemporary often has rooms available. And DVC within walking distance to the Magic Kingdom! This is a rumor that gets the Ahnalira two thumbs up and a giggle :D

I think that is the main reason we havnt seriously looked at the DVC option... we like the MK area and monorail access....

Now wouldn't that be great! IMHO there should be a DVC Villa at each of the monorail resorts as well as at AK. Maybe someday it'll happen.

I think that would be a great idea. I know I am in the minority, but our family stayed there in a GW in the Jan of 2000, and we all strongly disliked it. We really felt the building needed to be gutted. It seemed to have a really old smell and look.

This would make me seriously think of staying at the Contemp again.
