I was in Planes, Trains & Automobiles and responding to a post originated by Tagrel about Emerald Aisle rate. I got stuck and ended up with two identical posts. I edited the 1st one (word change) and on the 2nd one it gave me a delete option - never saw that before. I figured the system knew they were identical posts and was giving the option of fixing it. So I hit delete. Well now it appears that the whole thread is gone - or is just on my computer that it appears that way? I certainly didn't know that would happen! I only thought my 2nd post would go away.

If it's the thread on Has Anyone Used Emerald Aisle recently it is still there. You did do some weirdness with that delete and I haven't figured it out yet. That's cause I'm not as smart as Tag! Rosebud we will give you a cyber lollipop if you promise not to break anything again! :D

Wow Rosebud hoping Tagrel will know what happened. When you look at the Planes, Trains & Automobile site know from the main Forum page it shows a date of December 31, 1969 for the last update. Weird.

Nope it wasn't that post Moley. It was a post started by Tagrel and it was up to page 2. His post was about the good rate he got.

Margaret, I was only 9 in 1969, so in my defense how on earth could I know what I was doing - not to mention there weren't personal PCs back then!

Like I said - after sticking (hanging or whatever) it showed two identical posts by me. The first one had the "quote" button and the "edit" button, but the 2nd one also had a "X" delete button. I figured it would just delete that post...not the whole thread! Until Moley replied to something else on the front page I didn't see anyone even listing as a last post - I guess because I deleted it.

Sorry even if you promised me dark chocolate candy bars for life, I couldn't promise not to break anything again. Since I had no idea what I did would break anything. Although I do promise not to hit that button again if I ever see it!

Rosebud, I know exactly what thread you are talking about. It was "The great deal I got" or something like that. And you are right, it is now gone. Maybe Tagrel can reinstate it. That is too weird!

My Bad.

When I added the Planes, Trains - etc Forum I forgot to change the default settings to disallow this ability by general users. I'm still surprised it let you delete the entire thread! Live and learn!!

I've fixed it now, so THAT won't happen again. If anyone needs a duplicate post deleted, just contact a moderator or myself to do it for you. Everyone can edit their own posts though.. :)

That particular thread is gone for ever. I can't get it back.

Sorry,

Well I'm glad it was partly Tagrel's fault. It is weird though that it deleted the whole thread.
