Hi everyone!
A few months back - before Mousefest 2004 I had painted an Aderdondack (sp?) chair in a shark theme and it ended up being on exhibit at our City Art Gallery for a little more than a week. We had an opening reception and all the big wigs from town were there - being my first time it was an awesome experience.
In the exhibit, I had a beach towel on the floor in blues/greens, leis - again blue, draping over the back rest on one side. I took a Navy Blue Margarita glass and hot glued the edge then dipped it in rock salt to rest on the table along with an empty CD case of Jimmy Buffet’s Christmas Island - being that the exhibit was right before the holidays - and had a straw hat laying on the towel with a bottle of suntan lotion. (I say empty because at the end of the exhibit when I retrieved all my props and the chair/table the CD case was gone. Someone took it and upon getting outside into their car discovered it was EMPTY!! :lmbo:
If you can see in the photos - I have a Lost Salt Shaker on the seat which has become my signature for these chairs, although it was Tramp’s idea to put it in that spot - his reasoning being - you’re sitting on it and that’s why you can’t find it : )
Some of you have asked that I share my first two chairs - I’m painting more - and so I have. A few photos can be found in the Personal/Catch All Gallery.
Hugs Shell
