Does anyone know of the website that has a play by play review of movies? I used to have as a favorite but can not remember what it is called. This site has very detailed reviews so it can help me with movies my 14 year old son wants to see.

Well, I don't know if this is the one you mean, but I go to Internet Movie Database, which is : www.imdb.com
You can look up any movie or actor and find out most any information about them, including reviews.

I think you are looking for www.screenit.com as they have EVERYTHING detailed for movies. With an almost 13 and almost 15 yr old, we check it for everything. We have the meanest parent award as we won't let them see any of the crap out today! If we don't talk/bahave that way, we will not allow our TV to either, nor support a company that thinks it is OK. Sure narrows the choices!!!
Actually found one the other day that was fine-Rabbit Proof Fence. Wonderful story about when the Australian govt felt they needed to "properly train" the aborigine people and would take children from their parents. Heartwrenching and heartwarming at the same time. My almost 13 yr old son liked it, though he has never seen any of the popular action stuff out there.
Have fun!

I'll have to check out the screenit site. I think it is good to know what is in the movies and music before you let them see it/hear it. I always use imdb just to get reviews on how something is for myself, but the other one sounds really good for kids.

Thanks for the responses guys. None mentioned is the one I used to have but SusanP I think your site is great for parents. I am right with you on the meanest parent - my 14 1/2 yr old has never seen a R Rated movie other than when they show them on TV & take out all of the really bad stuff. A friend of mine told me in front of my son that I should lighten up and let him see the R rated movies if he wanted. Really ticked me off - I told her there were ratings for a reason. She has 2 teen boys & a elementary aged boy that watches most of the R rated videos at home. I guess to each their own but not going to happen in my house.

MargaretJ, glad to share the title!!!
Forget R around here (in my day, here in Ontario, you had to be 18 to get in to R), I can count on one hand, and have leftover fingers, the number of PG13 my kids have seen. One being the Hulk, I think Spiderman fit into that catagory as well. My daughter has seen Miss Congeniality. I have a real problem with the language, and especially with the sexual content that is EVERYWHERE! My son wants to see Shanghai Knights(?) which I could tolerate for the fighting stunts, but not for the adult content. He says, "why do they have to ruin a movie with that stuff-it is supposed to be about martial arts."
Hang tough, and don't lighten up. I don't believe, as parents, it is our job to expose our children to everything. I won't watch undesirable things, and still manage to function in the world!
