That's right...

"Hi...my name is Mike and I have a serious Disney obsession!"

Last night I talked with my cousin who has never...I repeat never in her some 50+ years...visited Walt Disney World.

Well, what was I to do but to offer my humble services to her and convince her to let me introduce her to the World....the RIGHT way.

Soooooo......

....Mike's year of Disney Decadence will continue as we are going down October 5th thru October 11th for the F&W festival and MNSSHP....

....and Carol will join us halfway thru and see F&W & MNSSHP for the first time...she really couldn't go to MF this year and felt it was easier to get away in October than go to the well and ask for time off in December 3 years in a row.

Of course the EXCITING part is that for the first time in 13 years I am going with a first-timer.

It's only for six days but the idea is to give her a taste of WDW for potential future visits.

I have my own thoughts regarding important things to show and do with a first-timer and welcome any ideas you guys may have.

I'm not sure how much of a thrill seeker she is so not sure if we'll do ToT or RnRC...but I'll drag her on Soarin'.

The obsession will continue.

I love going with newbies too, I am going in November with a family that has only been once(with me) but we were there with our boy scout troop and did not get to do alot. This trip will be just us and we will do WDW right! LOL, also they have a 2 year old who has never been and he loves Disney(again because of me) and I can't wait to take him to the house of MOUSE!!!

Obsession? What obsession? Sounds like standard operating procedure to me! :D

Susan is absolutely right. Trips with newbies can be so rewarding. Some of my all-time favorite moments were from the trips when I introduced the Dad and then my sister to WDW.

Decadence Rules!! :yahoo:

You do realize you'd save a fortune by just living in Orlando, right?

I get that a lot.

It will never happen...not as long as I'm alive. :P

That's great, Mike - what fun!

We are planningo n going to NYC in September for our fall vacation. The only thing that would keep us from that is the fact the Del's brother is getting married in October. We were thinking about giving them a week at our DVC. The catch is that the woman he is marrying has a small child, so wouldn't that be SO nice of us to offer to go along with them to babysit so that they could enjoy a proper honeymoon!? (hee, hee, hee)

Ya know Mike I was thinking that you won't be at WDW from July through to October  You should really try to throw in a few days maybe mid-August, What do ya say?!!!! Then you could say you are truly decadent

ETA: Mid-August really means any time from Aug.7-18th, that's when we'll be there.

Cool, Mike! One of our best trips ever was when we took my daughter's boyfriend (who was still just her friend at that time) for his first trip ever. We were major veterans by that time, and starting to get just a little jaded around the edges, so seeing the whole thing through his eyes made it fresh for us again. It was pure magic.

We'll be there (again with DD and her boyfriend, who we've made a complete convert of) Sept. 30 - Oct. 5, so we'll be waving goodbye as you're getting there!

My best memories that I will always have of my dad will be the first trip to WDW that we did back in 2000. It was so fun watching him see everything for the first time. He and my mom are now regulars, they have gone every year since.

WDW is a wonderful place to share with people you care for and love. Have a great time,

Carol :minnie:
