It was quite a juggling act to try to use my free flight credits (darn blackout dates) but was finally able to get May 13-18th. It appears that most places are booked pretty solid. I did manage to get the Grand Californian for the 15-18th and the Candy Cane for the 14th, now I'm just hoping that the Candy Cane gets a cancellation for the 13th, then we will be all set. The lady at the Candy Cane was a dear and said she would work real hard to make sure I get the 13th also. She was really a sweetie. Tickets are bought, and transfers arranged. WOW, this is really happening!!!

OMG Chris, are you talking about the Candy Cane Motel just outside of Disneyland???? If it's the same, I'm just shocked! My very first trip to DL was when I was 13 (not telling how long ago THAT was), and my girlfriend and her parents took me. We stayed at the Candy Cane Motel just outside of DL, I remember the big Candy Cane on the sign. I remember the night we checked in I was in such awe to see the fireworks from the second floor balcony. I would have thought this place was long gone! Could it be one in the same????

Have a great trip! We so wanted to stay at the Grand Californian for our 1 night trip a few weeks ago but it was too much for 1 night. Wondering if you will be like us & feel so disoriented at Disneyland. Since the castle was so much shorter I could not see it from all over the park & could not figure out where we were many times.

Hey Ali!

You will have such a wonderful time! Candy Cane Inn (I'm sure it's the same one, Linda, it's been there for years!) is so great! And the GC - you are so, so lucky!! What a good mom and daughter time! We did that last year for DD's 19th birthday.

I just found out that I may be going to LA on business in July or August - Disneyland HERE I COME!

That's awesome but I'll miss you by 2 days. :( You'll have to report back and tell us all about the Grand Californian. I'm jealous.

I just got the go ahead to take my 10yr niece to Disneyland!!. Now I have to figure when???!! With all the summer camps and vacations she goes to in the summer, I may just leave it at for Nov., during Veteran's days weekend.

I am so excited to be there during the 50th. :minnie: :minnie: :minnie: :minnie: :minnie:

Have a wonderful time, and let us know what you think of the 50th celebrations. I want to know what you think of the show about the 1st 50 yrs. Can't remember the name.

Have fun!!!

I hope you can fit the trip in, Susan. Happy planning. I am just begining to read and plan for our trip. It is odd to feel so "lost" planning for a Disney trip!

Ask your questions -- there are a few who can answer DL questions here - and we all just love to try!

Yeah, ask questions!!! It'll hold me over till I'm there. LOL I was at DL at least once a week for 4 years. The CMs started thinking I worked there too. (drool) Disneylaaaaaand.

I had a great time! I got to do everything I wanted to do except riding the Monorail. I figured I've done that enough times at WDW it wasn't worth the long line. I also hit the Character outlet, twice. :peri:
