Just read the following:
Screamscape has heard that Pooh will be closed down for nearly the entire month of May to perform rehab and add some kind of new safety equipment.

I hope this doesn't come to be, or is completely finished by June 1st! My daughter does NOT understand the meaning of rehab's!

If Pooh does go down for rehab, it must be open by the first week of June. My fiance is a huge Pooh fan. If she couldn't ride the Pooh ride, I would never hear the end of it. Knowing her, she would probably want to go back to WDW just to do this ride. Maybe that wouldn't be so bad afterall.

[b]NO!
My baby is a huge Pooh lover, one of her first few words was Pooh. Anyway, she's been twice, but never really old enough to recognize that she was on Winnie the Pooh's ride. This trip she will be, and this was one of the biggest things we were looking forward to.
This, and no Great Movie Ride? :?

I'll second that:
NO
My daughter loves the Pooh ride and with the Great Movie ride closed (another fav but not loved as much as Pooh) she'll be so disappointed and heck--so will I. When we were there last Sept., one of our favorites--The Haunted Mansion--was closed. It was suppose to open the day before we left to come home--guess what--never happened! We were truly bummed!
You'll find this funny--my kid's were upset with the closing of the Main Street Bakery on one trip for renovations. Each and every trip to MK starts with breakfast at the Bakery while sitting and watching the people head up Main Street. We order the "exact" same thing each time! Okay--call us addicted--what can I say.

My son will be sad too, but some refreshing for the ride is certainly due. In the queue area and a couple of places in the ride its possible for riders to reach out and touch...and aparently they have been because those spots are pretty shabby. The big page of the "book" that lines the fast pass queue area was literally hanging in tatters last week, which was kind of sad.
And if they're addressing safety I wouldn't mind them doing something about those lap bars! My little guy sits forward in the seat and grips the lap bar tightly for balance. Well...at the end of the ride they open automatically and rather abruptly, and recently he went right along with it, flung out of his seat and into the front of the car. His throat landing square across the bar. It left a big red mark and scared him to tears but did no lasting harm. Still, now I end every ride saying, "Let go of the bar, let go of the bar..."
Also, last week we were ready to board standing in line #1 right next to the operator when the little boy in line behind us was so excited that a hunny pot arrived that he tried to step in while it was still moving forward and was dragged forward and smushed between the car and the steel posts that divide the loading lines. The operater stopped the ride immediately and we all stood not breathing while his mommy got him unstuck. Again, tears but no harm. But we understood completely when the operator said, "Well, that just about gave me a heart attack." Hopefully they'll be installing swinging gates like the ones in Small World to increase safety.
