I've been emptying any paper money I have at the end of my day into my little Mickey mouse wallet for about a month. I don't usually have cash, only on the days I work.
I've just counted it up and there is $125 mostly in ones! WOWZERS!!!! :yahoo:

Cheri- do you mean emptying from your pockets??? or do you empty your "wallet/purse" everyday and go to the bank/machine to get more cash??? I empty all my cash on payday (sometimes using singles for Bethanys church envelopes) and keep it for trips but I don't have time to go to the bank every day!

Now that I've hidden our glass jar from DH, I may get a bunch of change in there to cash in before our October trip. He was dipping in there daily for newspaper money for his father's paper. That added up seven days a week. So, now it is hidden safely and I can dump all our change in there for six months and see what damage I can do.
Great job Cheri with the paper money!!!

Congratulations!! It's funny how fast it can all add up!! I do that but with change, I have a 1 gallon ziploc bag almost full! When I cash it I am gong to put it with the rest of my stash..but ssshhhh Joe doesn't know I have a stash  For the past three weeks I have been skimming money off the grocery money and so far I have $60, I didn't skim yet this week so I better go see what's left!! Just think how much I can save before our August trip to WDW!!!!!

That's GREAT Cheri!! I was collecting all of our loose change into a superglued juice bottle everyday, any loose change we ahd. Then I noticed instead of it going up, it ws going down. My children managed to get the superglued lid off and were hitting the jar for ice cream money, in fact, Nicholas was treating all his buddies too!

I've been saving change for a long time, I need to cash it in. but it is only dimes, nickels and pennies. Quarters are like gold that is laundry money. LOL

Congratulations, that's great. It adds up faster than you think. We save all our change and use it for our trips. I also have a pre-tax medical deduction(you know, quacking duck) that helps with all the prescriptions I take. When I send in the receipts for reimbursement we take that amount and set it aside. Since it is a bi-weekly payroll deduction it is not missed too much and is a great help for vacation.
Hey, that's a great idea mickeefan! I think I will start doing that with my Medical Reimbursement account. Like you said, it's a little out of your check every week so not a huge hit.
Thanks for the thought!
Joe

Thanks Carrie, Claire and Robin,
I can tell you, Nicholas would grab his wallet and treat all three of you to ice cream. He is my generous one and the kids has a heart of gold, except with his borther.
He gets his $1 (Yes $1 and he is thrilled with it so shush, don't tell him that is not alot  ) and is aloowed to do with it whatever he wants.

I really don't keep much cash, because I spend it too fast. But, I work 3 shifts per week. I cash a check for $10 each shift that I work for my breakfast and lunch. (It's cheaper to eat in this hospital than it bring it to work. ie egg, toast, and bacon 86 cents) Then what is left out of that $10, I put in the change purse. The coins in the pig, the paper money in the change purse. If I get $ out to go to the movies, I put what is left after that excursion in the change purse, so forth and so on.
It's working well so far.
