We took a 3-day Wonder cruise and were not impressed with the food. That was in November of last year. Palo's was wonderful however.
Does anyone know if they have improved the menus in the restaurants since that time?

Renee, I went in February and thought the food was pretty good-of course considering I'm a terrible cook my opinion might not be the most valid! The only negative experience I had was my salmon was slightly overcooked one evening.
Why were you disappointed? Which restaurant did you skip to eat at Palo's?

Susan, we skipped Parrot Cay to go to Palo's. The food in the other restaurants wasn't terrible. It was just ok. In fact, some of it was good. But I must have been expecting something better. Nothing compared to Palos. If we could have gone there every night I would have.
But the drinks were wonderful everywhere on the ship!!! :D
And the couple's massage was heavenly!

Have to say...I really enjoyed Tritons and Palo and thought Animator's was just okay in February. In fact, if I were to cruise again with people who had already seen the show at Animator's, I'd go to Palo that night. I haven't tried the new menu at Parrot Cay yet b/c that was the night we went to Palo.
I think that the food is very good, maybe not the best ever, but very good. I've heard that folks who have cruised other lines feel that this is the area in which DCL could use the most improvement.

Maybe I'm a country bumpkin or something, but on my one and only exerience on the Wonder last June I thought the food was possibly the best I'd ever had in any restaurant.
I have also spoken to folks who cruised other lines and thought the food on the DCL ships is somwhat inferior, leading me to wonder, "What do they serve on those other ships, pure Ambrosia?"
I also agree that Palo is the best restaurant on board, although sadly I was ill the night I ate there and couldn't take more than a bowl of soup. I'm very dissapointed that I couldn't partake more at Palo.
I'll say this about DCL in general: I was never terribly interested in taking a cruise of any kind until I was convinced to go on the Wonder as part of the Clubhouse Meet last year. The Wonder and her crew changed my mind, and now I'm considering taking another cruise next year, probably on the RCCL Voyager fo the Seas.
Of coourse, since I can only afford one vacation per year, I will probably wind up back at WDW again. But I can quit whenever I want...

I guess I am the only one who wasn´t impressed by Palo´s. We had dinner there on our 7-day cruise and regretted afterwards that we had skipped a dinner with our very nice table mates for it. The food wasn´t as good as we´d expected and the servers at our regular dining routine were much more friendly and nice. We didn´t have dinner there on our 4-day cruise a year later.
What we loved was the Champagne brunch at Palo´s. We found that was outstanding. And we´ll surely do it again on our next 7-day cruise in 2004.

Our February cruise was our 4th. We had the new menus, and I thought that the food was quite good, better than the previous cruises.
We didn't do Palo's since our DD was with us, but I do love the brunch there, as well as dinner.
The buffet at Castaway Cay is a bit lacking, but, after a few Konk Koolers, everything tastes a little better.
