Got up around 9:30 AM, went over to see Ben in Mom's room. We all decided to hit MGM before Mom and Bear headed out. We met at Starring Rolls Bakery for a quick bite to eat. Bear had sugar free crumble, Brent had bagel and brownie, Ben had a croissant, and I had a cheese danish(I love WDW's cheese danishes).
We all headed to Star Tours--everyone loved it, including Ben. This was a first for him, I was worried on previous trips it would scare him, but he did just fine. He was scrutinized on his size, but he just made it! Then, after Tattoine Traders(Mom got Ben a really cute Playskool Star Wars playset)
Mom and Bear headed for Downtown Disney and to drive up the west coast of Florida--they were going to take their time going home and see the sights. Brent, Ben, and I headed over to the Backlot Tour--The wait was a little too much for me--I was worn out, so we head for the exit. On the way, however, a CM is trying to get people into the Millionaire show. We decide to see it since we never had, and had a great time.
Then it was back to the hotel for lunch(more of those great cheeseburgers and fries), a swim, and a nap. I did some laundry while Ben was napping and saw another reason I am spoiled by the DVC! Washing machines $2.00 a pop! I think the dryers were $1.00 or $1.50, so laundry wound up being quite expensive. We had a snack of Mickey Ice Cream Bars for Brent and Ben and a slice of cheesecake for me in this time, too.
After we got refreshed we were ready to go again. We ate at the Food 'n Fun Center(pizza for the guys, California Wrap for me) and walked over to the MK. This was a surpisingly short and nice walk.
After a quick pic of me and Ben in front of the castle,
We got on Buzz fairly quickly, and after a quick stop for Mad Hatter's Tea Cups, then went over to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This was a first for all of us, and we all enjoyed it. Then Ben and I did Splash Mountain. This was a first for both of us--I've always wanted to do it, but there was always too long of a line, or too many other things I wanted to do, and Brent isn't too keen on big "drop" rides, so since Ben loves water and thrill rides I figured this was finally the time to do it! We both loved it.
As we were walking out of the park we bought a souvenir cup that had light up cubes in it. We watched the fireworks from right in front of the castle(Ben was very impressed with Tinkerbell--Brent didn't really believe me that it was an actual person until he saw it, too). After a quick stop at the bakery for chocolate chip cookies for me(I'm feeling a major diet coming on when we get home!!!) and Ben and Strawberry Shortcake for Brent we head back to the hotel.
*Note: If it weren't for Ben, we would probably skip the monorail and walk back and forth to the Contemporary--it is a nice walk and only takes about five minutes! I would definitely recommend it unless you're like us and have a monorail fan with you! (Ben would yell "Hey Monorail!" and comment on which color it was every time we saw one, which was quite often!)
