Day Three(Friday, July 4):
Mickey call at 7:00. Out the door at 7:50--trying to make Early Entry at Animal Kingdom. After waiting for the bus and the LONG bus ride to AK we finally make it to the gates about 2 minutes before 9. Oh, well. Head on over to Kilimanjaro Safari--had a posted 15 minute wait--but really it was just the time it took to walk through the queue. Great ride--lots of animals out since it was still early. The male and female lions were out--the male was pacing back and forth--made me a little nervous! After the safari, we head over to Tusker House for breakfast--very good breakfast. Croissants with sausage and egg and hashbrowns on the side, and lots of sweets to choose from. Then off to Kali River Rapids--great ride. I just love watching Ben on this ride. He loves to get wet and see everybody else get wet! This might have been my favorite ride. Then on to Festival of the Lion King--great shows. After the show we decide to see a few characters before heading back to the room for our swim and nap. We see Minnie..

and on the way out caught Lilo & Stitch...
We stop off in Island Mercantile here, Brent found a polo shirt, I found a perfect t-shirt with Minnie Mouse that said "Walt Disney World....Paradise Found", I also bought Ben a 2003 playground ball(we like to get these since we have one from every year) and Mom a picture frame for her birthday. We make one more stop in Guest Relations for a birthday badge for Mom and to upgrade Ben's pass to an Annual Pass.
After we get back to the room, Brent and Bear go to Downtown Disney to see T3(Terminator), Ben and I go swimming, and Mom does some laundry. Ben enjoyed the pool, but I guess I'm spoiled by Stormalong Bay and the AKL pool..it's just not as good. Ben also enjoys the fountains and manages to not get taken out as he did in October(a little girl just toppled him as they were running through the fountains--bloodied his lip and everything!). Then Ben and I go back to the room and he naps. About 5:00 Brent and Bear get back. We decide to try Chef Mickey's again--and it was only a 15-30 minute wait. We get in in about 20 minutes and had a great meal.
This was also Mom's birthday dinner, since today was her birthday, so they brought her a special placemat and a birthday cupcake complete with a lit candle(she had also snuck and told them we were celebrating my birthday,too, since my birthday was a few weeks ago, but when they brought my candle I was at the buffet line, so they made a return trip!)
After a great dinner we caught Donald on the way out. Ben was so funny with Donald. He wanted to touch him to make sure he was real. He even bent down and touched his feet!
We then walked downstairs and since we were a little leery of the crowds at the parks, we just walked around the resort, let Ben play on the playground, then took the boat over to the Wilderness Lodge(I wanted Mom and Bear to see this resort--I knew they'd like it) we looked around and as we were catching the boat back to the Contemporary, we caught some of the fireworks at the boat dock. We came back to the hotel and headed in for the night.
