Day Two(July 3):
Got up around 8:00, got ready, headed down to see a park. Today was an "extra" day, as we weren't planning on getting here until late this afternoon. Mom and Bear are supposed to be checking in to the Contemporary today sometime, so I leave a message for them at the front desk before we head out. As we get downstairs, we see Mom and Bear checking in, so we wait for them and we all head over to EPCOT together. We get to World Showcase right as the Character Caravan is on the way in. Mom purchases an autograph book and pen for Ben, Brent buys Ben a hat(I'm seeing a theme here) and sunglasses for himself, and we hear the bus coming so we head over. Ben loves it and wants to see Mickey first. After I show him how to get an autograph he is hooked. He wants to see them all.... so we see
Goofy....
Turk...
Hook and Mr. Smee(which he wasn't too sure about)...
Pluto...
and Baloo..

We head over to Mexico, ride El Rio del Tiempo, then it's over to Maelstrom(we didn't get to ride this in October as it was being refurbished.). This is one of Brent's favorites, but we were a little apprehensive as to how Ben would like it...he loved it! Then off to American pavilion for lunch. We were all starving as breakfast had been a while ago and had only been granola bars for me, leftover breadsticks for Brent, and a poptart for Ben(all brought from home). Mom and Bear hadn't eaten anything, so we were in search of something quick and a cool place to eat it! The weather wasn't terribly hot, but it was hot. The burgers were very good. I was a little surprised at how good, but the food at WDW has improved SO much over the last few years. I'm not even a burger person, but these were very tasty(they're the same burgers served most everywhere on property, I found). I used two of my rewards certificates(from Disney Visa) for this meal and paid $2.12. One thing to note, when you use these, the lady told me they can't give you change. Our meal was $22.12, and I handed her three certificates at first. She stopped and said, if you've got $2.12 you could save this other one(it was a $10) one. So we did that and used the other later. As we were leaving America we spotted a special table set up with prints. The artist had been there signing prints. I purchased a neat 8x10 of EPCOT and Spaceship Earth--actually as I was going up to pay Mom handed me the money for it--a late birthday present she said, lol. As we are getting ready to check out, the guys have to take their yearly "hat shot"

Time to head back to the room for a swim and a nap so we head over to the monorail. It starts thundering as we are walking back to the room, so straight to nap(poor Ben was so tired he didn't even argue!) and we all nap! Get up, get ready and check Chef Mickey's for dinner--1 hour wait, so we decide to try our luck at the MK. We eat at Tony's, which was a first for us all. Everyone but me had spaghetti and meatballs(I had a side salad and Buca Nuva(sp?), which was excellent). Everyone said theirs was very good too. I used the rest of my rewards certificates(another note: the waitress mentioned that I wouldn't be able to get change, and I said "That's okay--I'm only covering part of it--I'll pay for the rest". She replied,"I was actually saying it for my part, too--my tip can't come out of the certificates either".)
We head over to catch the train, get off at Toontown, stroll through Mickey's house, then to the Barn. We see Pooh,

Eeyore,
and Tigger..
At this point we lose Mom and Barry. We look for them for a bit, then head over to Peter Pan since that was our next planned stop(we thought they might be there). We don't see them, but since it is a 40 min wait--we go on in and ride It's a Small World then break down and wait for Pan. I knew Mom had a headache(they were searching for Tylenol when we got separated) so I figured they were back at the hotel. We decide to go back to hotel for the night after riding Pan, but Spectromagic is in full swing and have a hard time navigating the crowds. Once we get back to the hotel we stop off at the Food and Fun Center for Mickey ice cream bars for Brent & Ben and then it's off to bed.

*Unfortunately, the neighbors upstairs weren't so keen on sleeping. Lots of jumping around up there--so much our ceiling fan was shaking! They settled down around 1 or 2.

Enjoying your report so far.

I bet lots of people don't realize you can't use the certificates towards the waitress tips. I would just figure if there was enough money on there the difference could go towards the wait staff.

Sorry--I'm copying and pasting this report from the one I did in FrontPage--and the pictures don't copy. There is a picture right below where I tell that the guys had to get a hat shot in my original but, anyway--every year Brent, Bear, and Ben put on one of those huge funny hats and I snap a pic of all of them!
