We all sleep in until 11 am this morning. Too much fun and sun yesterday, so today we are slow moving. Eventually we get our butts in gear and catch a bus to MGM. Our first stop is to see if lunch will be possible at Sci-Fi today. After a 5 minute wait we are seated and enjoy our first visit here. We start with an order of onion rings, Terry gets the Chicken Sandwich, the boys get corndogs, and I order a buger. Everything is very good and we are glad they could fit us in.
We need to stay out of the sun today. The boys are blistering on their shoulders, and if it were up to them, they'd probably be swimming in the sun again. First stop is Animation, then One Man's Dream, and the backlot tour. Terry is asked to participate in one of the roles and is the guy who sits in the chair and gets soaked. The boys think it is too funny and enjoy seeing him get soaked. Both the boys ask to have their picture done, so Zach gets his done on the Treasure Planet background and Nick on the Finding Nemo background. Both turn out really cute.
There is a quick downpour and it gets extremely muggy. We sit down to make our plans which are Muppets, Star Wars and Rock N Rollercoaster. Everything goes fine until we get to Rock N Rollercoaster. There is about a 45 minute wait which is fine because we'll do this and then head over to Fantasmic. There is a Mom and her son ahead of us, and two teens ahead of them. When we get close to the beginning of the line 17 people come and cut the line. They are all the family members of the two teens. The woman ahead of us, goes around them and cuts, people are complaining, but these people make matters worse. One of them comments "dumb Americans" which sets Terry off. I can see the look in his eyes and know it's not going to be pretty. Terry is a very calm laid back guy, but when pushed...watch out. Thankfully, he is a smart man and only has words with this ignorant person. By his speaking to them, it sort of calms them down, and cools off some tempers, mostly his. There is only a young girl there taking tickets and she says there is not much she can do. It ticks me off, but I understand her situation. Its very crowded, and she needs to keep the lines moving.
She lets this obnoxious group in and asks us to wait a minute as she continues to let others in. I think "Oh great, were pulled aside because Terry told this jerk off". I want to comment, Terry did not get loud or nasty, but in a seriuous tone told this jerk what he thought about their behavior and comments about us being dumb americans. Once Terry spoke up, they seemed to quiet down. She asks us to step around the bend there and gives us 4 Fast passes to ride again. She apologizes and thanks Terry for taking control of the situation and explains that by the time she would have called fo help, it would have held up the line. She also mentions not to worry, they will be taken care of.
So we step inside and they, all 17 of them continue to push and shove people. Once the show is over they push people aside and run to the line. We sit back and watch them make everyone mad. Once they get to the turnstyle, they all push forward and run up to beat each other to ride in the first seat. The guys working the ride are all yelling at them, and pull them all aside. Meanwhile the rest of our group gets on the ride and leaves. From what we found out they made them wait quiet a while and let tons of people cut ahead of them. We ride the coaster and go back outside and into the fast pass line to go again. The boys really love this ride now.
We get a few snacks and head up to Fantasmic. I spot a tall, handsome young man and notice his name tag says Owen. So I ask if he is Sid's (Roodad) son. He says "yes he is", with a huge smile on his face. After speaking with Owen for a minue, we head up to find some seats. Once the show is done, we just sit and take it easy until most of the crowds have shoved their way through. We return to our room completely exhausted and are sound asleep fast.
Coming tomorrow...Whispering Canyon, meeting Rhinodad and Kerrigan, and Magic Kingdom.
