HAPPY 4Th of JULY!!
I dreamt all night about my shopping trip today with Linda, so it was very easy to wake and get myself going. Terry and the boys are still sound asleep, so I get ready quietly, grab a bottled water, a wad of cash, and my new Disney credit card. I'm ready!! I head to the front of the Wilderness Lodge and sit for a few minutes waiting for Linda to pick me up. It is so peaceful here, I really love it. Yes, She's here, its time to go spend!
It's 9 am and we are on our way to the Belz Outlet Mall, my heart is pounding and I'm ready to go. We start into the first Disney Store, and I'm not sure where to start....oh well, anywhere is fine. The deals are incredible, and I am in my GLORY! One basket full, then two, Oh my I'm out of control. Did I find everything I need? Hmm, where's Linda? Oh my what deals did you find? Where did you find that? Oh I need one of those! Wow, look at this!!
We finally make it to the register, fully knowing there is another Disney Store in another section of the Outlet Mall. Linda and I giggle all the way to the truck. I'm on a total Shopping high, and there's more shopping ahead. The second store is filled with just as many excellent deals, and Linda and I are filling more baskets really fast. Thank goodness she has a 9 passenger truck, we're going to need it. Linda makes a call to Bill and he and their children are over at the Lodge swimming with Terry and the boys. Silly man tells us to take our time, and enjoy ourselves. SO we do, and they may be sorry. I end up spending just a little over $400 and have 8 of those extra large blue Mickey bags. Linda's truck is packed with more Mickey bags than I have ever seen. YES, I have found myself a shopping partner!! Poor Terry and Bill have no idea what trouble they are in for.
So what did I buy? Mickey watch $19.99 (same one $65 in the parks), 2 Mickey jackets $29.99 (original $59.99), Pluto phone $29.99 (original $69), Long sleeve t shirts perfect for Buffalo winters $7.99 (same short sleeve ones are priced $26 at resorts and parks), these I purchase a bunch of for Terry, myself and Zachary(he can wear a mans small). Long sleeve t shirts for the both the boys ranging from $5.99 - $9.99 which are perfect for school, a christmas Mickey blanket $21.99 (original $60),Pooh nightshirt $6.99 for myself, Mickey candles 25 cents, 2002 disney scrapbooking packages 99 cents, heavy duty frosted drinking glasses with mickey heads $2.99(original $6). The list goes on, but I think you can see, this is all nice disney merchandise and some of it is stuff I paid orginal price for last year. I'd have to mark this as one of my best ever shopping trips!
Linda asks me if I want to stop at another Disney Store, and as much as I'd love to I'm afraid I would go way over if I do. So after a quick stop at Publix, we head back to the Wilderness Lodge where our families have spent the whole day swimming. A man sees us struggle with only my shopping bags, and offers help. We are both laughing so hard, I can barely stand. We thank him, and tell him we can manage, and he begs us not to tell his wife about the outlet mall. After a few stops between the truck and my room, we finally make it up there and I hide all of the bags in the closet. Now to find our families down at the pool and ease Terry into my bargains carefully. Thank goodness he is a patient, understanding man. :angleCute:
When we find them, they are all enjoying themselves in the pool and hot tubs. Linda, and her family invite us to dinner at their cabin, and then head back to swim at the cabins. Her son Matt, stays with us and I head up to change into my suit. Once back down at the pool, I get a pina colada ($7.50 plus tip). We stay at the pool for about an hour and I am once again sunburned. Terry rounds up the boys and they are beet red! The sunscreen was packed but they were so excited to swim with Linda's family they forgot to put it on. I even reminded Terry to put sunscreen on them, and can't get too mad he forgot...he still has no clue what I bought.
Bill picks us up and takes us back to the 2600 loop at Fort Wilderness for dinner. The cabins are adorable, and there is plenty of room for us. Linda and Bill make us a delicious dinner and we enjoy another evening with them. We had called about renting a pontoon boat, but all were rented out. Everyone is too tired to head to a park, so we go sit at the poolside at the cabins and watch the fireworks at a distance. We say our goodbyes, as Linda and her family head back to Buffalo tomorrow and Bill drops us off at the Wilderness Lodge.
As we enter our room, there is a gorgeous fruit basket sitting on a table in our room. What a nice surprise, its from Happy Camper and twinks. The basket is shaped like a mickey head and has fruit, cheese spread, crackers and cookies in it. It's almost to pretty to open, but we do, and enjoy every single morsel during the week. Thank you so much Twinks and Happy Camper, this was the perfect ending for a great day! We are blessed with the most wonderful friends!
Nick notes before going to sleep, there was no sign of the flasher at the pool day, and he was a little disappointed to not have seen her today.
Coming tomorrow....MGM, Fantasmic, and Sci Fi
Dates: June 27 - July 12
