I didnt get any details but I saw they have a restaurant for character birthday's. They give you a cake and I think the sign said somehting about the child gets to put decoratins on it. It use to be a restaurant but now its just for birhtdays. If your going to California and have a birthday I hope someone does this so we can hear more abou tit. Im sure its booked through the dining reservations number.

Thanks for the reminder, BarbD!

Several years ago- we did a birthday party there. It was in the now empty restruant by under Space Mtn. It was loads of fun with characters to interact with, games, singing and other silly stuff. It took about 2 hours and included a meal. It was bit pricey, I thought but still a one time worth doing.

:boyears: I am unsure if the new birthday party is similar or not -- but worth a call if a birthday party in DL is what you are thinking of! :girlears:

HI,
The birthday party is held every afternoon at the Plaza Inn. Mickey and Minnie appear. Everyone in your party recieves a cupcake to decorate. In the morning this is the location of the only "in the park" character meal. Breakfast is all you can eat served cafeteria style (you don't serve yourself). Winnie the Pooh and friends appear. Pooh, Eeyore, andTigger have alwasy been there when we have gone. We have also seen Piglet on one occasion and Mary Poppins and a penguin on another ocassion.

In the evening the Plaza Inn is a cafeteria style restaurant with fried chicken dinners, pot roast, etc. I recommend the fried chicken. YUM!

Hope this info helps.

This is wonderful idea!! :D
Here is more info:
="My Disneyland Birthday Party" at the Plaza Inn restaurant on Main Street U.S.A. offers a Disney take on the usual cake-and-song routine. The 40-minute-long-party,thrown daily at 2:30 and 3:30, is never the same twice, and neither are the cakes.Every attendee gets to decorate his or her own mini-cake in a Mickey-shaped tray with colorful frosting and candy.

While guests work on their cakes, happy-go-lucky baker Pat E. Cake flits around offering jokes and encouraging comments.Though they may arrive a bit late, Mickey and Minnie haven't missed a party- or a round of "Happy Birthday"- yet.

Tickets are $10 per person.Call (714)781-DINE for reservations.=
