We drive to Vero Beach, and we are there before we even know it.
This is the place we all read about in books. The place where perfectly sane adults run away and become beachcombers. It is lovely. The CM's are very friendly and anxious to please. A wait of 5 mintues for a table is considered by them to be too long. The CM's make a point of getting to know your family and ensure that you are having a great time. Brett at the poolside grill is really happy to be there and take care of you.
The grill serves the normal burgers, hot dogs, etc. until about 5pm and then it serves pizza. The mugs change every season and we got the cute Nemo ones. The beach is beautiful, the campfire and s'mores are great and the CM's really are fun. You can rent beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards on the boardwalk leading to the beach. We love it here! There is absolutely nothing to do, but the beach, pool and spend time with family.
We play board games, swim, eat, swim, read, swim. sun, swim. You get the point. We will return. We meet many interesting people here.
I explore Vero Beach and find the shops to be cute. It is a very natural and beautiful place. For me, it was a luxury resort in the middle of the fruit groves. I find the post office and ship back 5 large boxes. There is a walmart supercenter and publix located within 10 minutes north on US 1.
The nightlife, was watching the newly hatched turtles follow the moon's reflection into the ocean, and romantic moonlit walks on the beach.
The kids loved sitting on the balcony overlooking the ocean. We had 2 connecting studios at the Inn. This was exactly, what we needed. We all finished Harry Potter within 48 hours of the book's release. This was the beach vacation we had always dreamed of. Now, we were suppose to go home, but..... Old Key West awaits us for 5 nights.
