We left home on 6/14, 24 hours after our original goal. DH, stubbed
toe so badly, we belived it was broken. Thankfully, all is good and we leave. Driving is always our best part. We chat and laugh and sleep. We always stop overnight at a certain Holiday Inn Express and
had McD's for breakfast. Tonight we will be a AKL.
AKL was impressive. We arrive mid afternoon on Father's Day. WOW!
We are on the Zebra Trail with connecting rooms. The Wheelchair accessible rooms are fantastic. We sit for hours watching the zebras and giraffes. We stay here for 2 nights and enjoy Boma for dinner and breakfast. Our servers were Brenda, Albert and Ali. They were fantastic and the food wonderful! We swim , tour the resort and just hang out.
The weather is very comfortable and sunny. It is a marvelous resort and the animals seem to relax you. The kids just love sitting on the balconies and watching. We have the bell service take our many bags and we are off to the Yacht Club for the next 6 nights!

I know what you mean about the drive bringing you all closer. For us the drive isn't a chore, it's part of the adventure. I'm off to read more!

We usually fly just b/c I can't take much time off work and I also don't drive at night. One time though I drove by myself with three kids under six. They had a great time! I actually yearn for the day when I can do that again!

I'm glad you enjoyed AKL. It is just so relaxing to me and Boma's is my alltime favorite restaurant.

lol. Lady! I was thinking the same! It's got to be fun, though, with 6 children.
