Have you heard. Half Blood Prince to be released July 16th.
I was going to come in last night and tell you the door opened and she had a message, but couldn't log in.

Considering that OOTP was 800+ pages this one ought to be a whopper ;) Rowlings imagery and story telling has amazed me every time I've read the books in this series. I have high hopes for the new book.

Now doesn't she know she'd make a whole lot more money if she spilt them into smaller sections. Oh well it doesn't keep me from waiting for the release date.

I ordered mine today. Why wait, well, I couldn't. Yes, I'm a big fan. I've hooked my DGK's as well. My 4 yr likes to do a Harry Potter marathon film fest, watching 1, 2, & 3 right in a row. I have to limit him on the number of times we watch it. He now tells me he is reading the books and will sit down with mine and pretend. The 6 yr tries to read the books but gives up after a few minutes.
Yes, I'm ready for #6.

Alikat was so excited when she found out. I wish I could have shared her excitement, but I haven't gotten around to reading them, and I probably won't for a long time. Here's to 7 months of anticipation!

Oddly enough I found out about this by looking for information about the movies. IMDB.com already has an entry for the movie version!

for book 6? Is there already a contract signed past the first four?

I'm not sure, but WB's deal may be for the series, not any group of novels. So as the series grows, so do their movie rights.
The place holder for the movie is just that, a place holder. No specifics other than the year 2008, which I bet was thrown on because their listing format requires a date.
The whole thing just took me by surprise because I hadn't seen anything about it at the time.

How big a party is this? Will Jo Rowling be there or is it strictly a fan event?
As a die-hard Harry Potter fan, I'll be expecting lots of details from you about that party Zac!
