Could you please tell me how to put a quote in those shaded boxes for when I want to reply to a specific post. :? I tried something but it looked weird so I didn't submit it. Thanks... Sharon

The easiest way to add a quote for a specific post is to click the "Quote" button at the top right of the post you wish to quote.
You can also quote manually by using the follow format:
Quote text here
to display:
Quote text here
if you want the quote to have the person's name included use:
Quote text here
to display:
Quote text here

I hope you don't mind that I tried a quote test here. I tried highlighting a portion of it but the whole text came up when i used the quote button. Sharon

You are correct. Selecting the quote button quotes the entire passage, not just what is highlighted. I just manuallly delete out what I don't want in the quote.
And another lesson - next to the quote button is an edit button (at least for your own posts). If you forget something or see a mistake you can hit that button and update your original post with the correction!
I use it ALL the time, because I never seem to get it right the first time.

No problem. :D For your next quiz, go into the post you 'messed up' using the edit feature and fix it! ;)
We can't learn these things if we don't get a chance to practice! Another feature I use all the time is 'Preview'. Then I can see and fix mistakes before I post.

Thanks for asking that Sharon. I couldn't figure out how people got the name of who the quote was from. It bugged me, but did I think of asking - of course not.
