I sent an inquiry to WDW Guest Services recently asking about downloading digital photos and internet access. I got this reply yesterday:

Dear William,

Thank you for contacting WALT DISNEY WORLD!

We appreciate your interest in digital camera services. Currently the only
location that can download your digital camera is the Journey into Your
Imagination attraction in Epcot. Smart Cards, Smart Media Cards, Compact Flash
Cards and memory sticks may be downloaded to a CD at a rate of $11.99 for the
first 40 images and $5.99 for every 40 images after. Prints are also available
at $0.69 per print.

Payphones with large touch-screen displays and Internet-access capabilities have
been installed at locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.

These Multimedia Guest Information and Public Internet Access Devices are
available in all four Walt Disney World theme parks, several resorts and various
other locations on property to help guests find answers to questions and access
a variety of online services.

The devices offer free access to Disney-branded Web sites, such as Disney.com,
ESPN.com, ABC.com, and others. Guests also can use a touch-screen speed-dial
button and attached telephone to speak with representatives from Walt Disney
World Guest Services, Recreation Services and Dining Services.

Guests can use the devices to access the Internet and check their e-mail
accounts for 25 cents a minute with a four-minute minimum.

High speed, wireless Internet access is currently available to Guests staying at
select Disney Resorts. Guests with Wi-Fi enabled laptop computers or PDA's will
be able to access the Internet from the common areas of these resorts, including
the convention centers, resort lobbies, bars, and in some instances, concierge
suites.

Price: $4.99 for the first 60 minutes; or $9.95 for 24 hours

Smart City is the vendor providing this service and will bill the Guest using a
secure credit card transaction via the on-screen Internet connection

Current locations:
Grand Floridian
Contemporary
Yacht Club
Beach Club
Coronado Springs

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if
applicable on all correspondence.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Ronda

Well, now we know!

I must say, however, that those prices seem beyond steep, like in the 'highway robbery' arena.

Wow, thanks Will! Those CD prices are NUTS. Yowch! This is why I always bring my laptop. (Well, downloading pictures and writing trip reports!) :D

Guess I'll pack my WiFi card to use at the BC... I might just have to give it a try. $10 for 24 hour access is typical in hotels - and that isn't always WiFi so you can use your laptop. Now if they just add this ability at WL I'll be all set! Guess its only the Convention Hotels that currently have access. Sitting in the lobby or bar having a drink and cruising the net while the family sleeps is a definite possibility... :)

As you can see, Disney is NOT my only addiction!

Even with the high prices on some services, this is good info to know and the very latest update. Thanks, Will, for posting it! :)

Will,
I forgot all about the fact that I asked about the digital camera downloading for you when I went there. I didn't get all the details you did though.
