Day 2 – I am home!
You know what it feels like when you walk into a place and immediately know you are right where you are suppose to be! That is Disneyland and I! I have said it before – I just breath a little deeper, walk a little lighter and I just can’t get the grin off my face!
There is no early entry for certain people anymore – just the whole park opens up for everyone at 8 am and you know I was in line before it opened. The park opened at 8 am sharp and not one minute earlier!
After strolling down Main Street I went left, of course, the only way to go in a Disney park! Over to Indiana Jones. This is my favorite all time ride any park, any day! There was no need for fast pass at this point 5 minutes to the cars! The theming, the thrills, the chills, the fun is exactly what I love in an attraction. Every time a great ride! Then I head over to Splash Mountain. No need for fastpass at this in the morning. It was about 15 minutes to the log. Great fun! Over to Winnie the Pooh, this ride is not in Fanatasyland but right across from Splash Mountain. It is very cute and I think very similar to the attraction at MK. And over to the HM. This is a must do every time and the hidden Mickeys were everywhere.
Now for breakfast. Fritters and a mint julep are on the menu and I figure they are hive worthy and I was right!
Took the train to Toon Town for a quick ride on Rodger Rabbit, a little shopping and some time with my best bud, the one, and the only Mickey Mouse! Very fun and Mickey was so happy to see me!
On to Small World then shopped my way over to the Blue Bayou for lunch with BarbD and her DH!
It is such fun to met people that share your passion for Disney! It was like see really good High School buddies after years! Barb and DH are wonderful, fun to talk with, understand all this Disney obsessions. We had a great meal. BarbD and DH had the Monte Crito Sandwich. They said it was great and it looks wonderful. As always Disney portions are huge and they shared. I did not share and had the Roast Pork Loin with root beer spiced apples, potatoes and nice veggies. It was great and I ate the whole thing! Barb’s DH was very smart and saved room for dessert, chocolate pecan pie. Looked wonderful! I passed on the fried cheesecake, now why would you have to fry a piece of perfection! Oh well, it was the rave there!
We decide it was naptime and arranged to meet later for the Disney Detective show, the parade and fireworks.
We found a bench just to the right of the castle on the pathway to the Matterhorn. It was about 7:15 pm and no one around. By 7:30 pm it was crowded. This was a great location for the parade and a good location for the fireworks. All around a great time. The company was great and so was the Carmel apple BarbD found for me so fresh and gooey! Loved it!
We decided to call it a night and headed back to our hotels. Hugs and goodbyes!
A great day, with great people, in a great place. Could life be much better than this! This Mouseketer doesn't think so!
