Hi,
We are going on the 7-night W. Carribean in November and are interested in any suggestions on excursions. Mrs. Bear had suggested Xcaret Eco park (back when we were still at MA) but haven't heard much about Key West or Grand Caymans.
One other questions - if the ship is unable to stop due to weather do they refund or not bill you for any excursions you may have reserved?

Thanks! :D

Hi Vero and Lisa: I'm going to be very interested in this thread also. We just booked a W. Caribbean DCL for Spring Break 2004.

I remember from another cruise how everyone raved over Xcaret Eco Park. I think we will consider that. My girls will be 4 and 7. Even though they are terrific swimmers, I don't think the little one will be ready to snorkle- this is what we've always done in the past in Cancun / Cozumel.

We're not much into shopping in Mexico.

I'd sure like recommendations for Key West and Grand Cayman.

We're pretty adventurous and don't need to stay with the standard excursions. We've been known to hire our own taxis in the past and just explore.

Our interests are to find things unique to that area. For instance, I don't need to go to the Hard Rock Cafe AGAIN, etc.

Thanks for your advices.

I made a mistake - our cruise is on the Magic not the Wonder - we're taking the 7 Day Western Caribbean and like you MJ we also would rather just go and explore vs. the standard excursions - we like to pull the various places up on the internet and research them out - finding interesting stuff to do that we like : )

We'll be after your trip - shucks - sorry we'll miss ya!

This is going to be fun!!!

Hi Margaret and for Lisa too!!

The last time we went to Xcaret my DD was almost 3 and she really enjoy the park.We did the river...I don't remember the name...you don't need to snorkle or even swimm well the river is under the ground and isn't darkness, it's beautiful with a lot of fishes, you won't be in danger trust me!! .I don't know how the excursion works but if you can stay late you must have to see the show, is wonderful!!

Do you want me to send a magazine too? If I found my brouchers I can send them too!

I will be more than happy if I can help you with this!! :D

PS.The magazines are in English and Spanish and it talk about the Mexican Caribbean not just Xcaret.Remember my English is not so good , so I can't explain to you everything that I want.

Hi Mrs. Bear: Thanks for your offer to send the brochures. I'm going to decline, because I am trying to not collect reading material lately. I have too many magazines, guidebooks, etc. I am so thankful that you provided the website links though. Now, I have them bookmarked and can always locate them to read which I did this morning.

I'm sure you don't remember, I am also mostly bilingual, having grown up in Puerto Rico. Por supuesto hablo espanol. (Mas o menos!) Pero, puedo leer mejor que puedo hablar.

Thanks again and I think Xcaret is a definite yes. By the way, how do you pronounce that. Would it be - sar-ett' ?

Muchas Gracias, Margarita
