We made our reservations at BWV 11 months out and all I requested was non-smoking and near the elevator. We'd have been happy with any view that we had since we were booking std. to save points, but our room location and view exceeded all our expectations. :D
We were on the lobby level, 4 doors down the hallway and on the pool-view side of the hall. We ended up with one of those rooms I always said I'd hate to have if I was paying for a pool view. You know the ones... they're right behind Leaping Horse Libations and facing trees to boot. The view from the living room was of the back of the pool bar and a tree, but oh the view from our bedroom! I can see why they can't give it out as preferred view due to the living room view, but the other view is mighty fine day and night.

This trip only reinforced our happiness at having joined DVC and buying at Boardwalk Villas. Our digs were so nice and comfortable to come home to. This vacation felt almost decadent because we were so happy whether we were in the parks or in the villa. Can't wait to go back! :D

Robin, I know you are quite familiar with the area, so you know how cool the Boardwalk can actually be. We encountered nothing but great service and really loved the DVC difference. One reason we bought there was the fact that they offered the standard view option. We get Epcot location at Old Key West prices. It's right for our family anyway.
Lady, it was an awesome view. Tagrel got the super yowzers view on his last trip. I want that Spaceship Earth view one of these days.

Awesome view Alicia!! I love a pool view, and to have the Swan/Dolphin as well is REALLY impressive! I thought all the Std View rooms were on the other side of the building - are you sure you didn't receive an 'upgrade' to preferred view? :) We just loved the BWV in July and yes, that crescent lake/Epcot view was awesome! :D I haven't met a DVC property I didn't like yet! And I doubt I will! :) I'm so glad you guys had a great time and I look forward to your photoshow and Trip Report!

We may have, Tag. I just assumed it was a standard view since the view from the living room was so cruddy. It was totally just a view of a tree and the back of the pool bar. I wouldn't want that as a preferred view. That balcony was also one of the only closed ones where you had to stand to see out.
The other balcony made up for it though. I will splurge for that Boardwalk view one day. :D

Beautiful View Alicia! We relly liked the Boardwalk and hope to stay there someday. Did you happen to go down that slide?
:mickeyWalk: Sheryl :minnie:
That is a great view Alicia! Great luck with your assignment of rooms. We also lucked into a pool view room when we were at the BWVs last year and it was great. We did have a 'real' balcony so I could go out in the morning and have my coffee and read before the ladies decided to get up. It was really great to sit on the balcony and watch the resort come to life in the mornings.
Can't wait for our next trip down.

manomanoman ... What a dynamite view!! So happy you had a great pad to stay in. I'm one who is greatly influenced by where i stay... whether or not i'm in the room much. It just plain bothers me. I could have lived with that living room view, but no roof tops! I do whatever it takes to get a better room.
And i love the Boardwalk area too... cool area in stay in.

Sheryl, I went down that slide over and over again.
The way they handle the pool temps is amazing. It was cool enough to be refreshing if you were hot when you got in, but warm enough that no matter what time of day you got in, you weren't cold. They even heat the water that goes down the slide. I think I'm ready for Summit Plummet now.
