View Full Version : Am I the Only One?

Am I the only one who enjoys handing my money over to Disney?
When I planned my first trip 2 years ago, half the fun was studying maps, gathering tips, and deciding what all I needed to see. Now that I'm working, going to school, and raising an infant, I don't have a lot of time to spend online. So I've gotten pleasure out of booking my room, paying the resort total, purchasing plane tickets, buying my park tickets, etc. Today I had a little fun purchasing our MVMCP tickets. I know I could let the money sit in the bank and collect a few extra dollars in interest, but I get an oddly fun feeling when I purchase something for my Mousefest trip. It makes the trip seem a little more real.
Am I crazy, or does anyone else find the slightest enjoyment in paying for it all in advance?

I like paying for things in advance as well. It spreads out the 'joy' over a longer period which helps me reduce the overall 'sticker' shock! And also makes it possible to keep everything paid off.
And there's a great feeling when you have that MVMCP ticket in the desk! :mrgreenSanta:
(and nice job getting back to Taginator status Carrie!)

We play the "watch the exchange rate" game to buy our US money, so though we don't pay ahead, we sort of do...
And it's not like you are losing much interest these days by paying ahead!!!

Handing over my money is the one part of a WDW trip that I DON'T like, because I'm a cheapskate.

I like having as much of the trip pre paid as I can. For some reason I just feel better knowing I was in control of all those bills before the trip.

Paid deposit and the $10.00 charge for my freee airline ticket for marathon yesterday (or should I say Paid off card with those charges on it  ) it did feel good. I never pay ahead (unless I have to) but like seeing the vacation account go up every couple of weeks when my check is deposited! (it's also fun to see how much of my "weekly cash" I can save to turn into Disney Dollars for the next trip. Unless we have an emergency last 2 weeks netted my Disney Dollar fund $22.00 not counting change (bought $60.00+ in Disney Dollars just a couple of weeks ago!).
So like Will I don't like actually paying Disney I like seeing the funds accumulate!
I do not like handing my money over to Disney but we as a family do like having our trips (no matter where we go) paid for in advance - it's all cash and paid up front - when the trip is over no bills arrive at our door - it's a good feeling :)
a few months back we were at a comedy club and the host opening the acts mentioned that he, his wife and kids were just at Disney and went to Casey's - he mentioned they had hot dogs and sodas and it came to $45.00 which might be an exaggeration then stated how much $$ does that *(*&&)$& Rat need!?!? even though I like Disney it still had us laughing : )

I can fully understand where you're coming from Carrie! Today is payday, and it is paying off our airlines tickets for the 1/2 Disney marathon. Next few weeks will pay off the resort, and the rest will be spending money. I also LOVE to pay off as much as possible before we go, but mainly because I hate to come home from a trip owing anything. I guess you can say I DO enjoy handing my money over to Disney, because it always means fun for our family.

Hey SusanP, we play watch the exchange rate here too!
I love spending money for Disney at little at a time. It somehow makes you feel closer to the magic!
