Once again, those of us on the Treasure Coast are threatened by yet another hurricane  ---Jeanne. Right now, they have her just off our coast as a cat. 2 or higher at 2 a.m. on Sun. We are definately in the cone of error and could get a direct hit, again, or a bit further north
Please keep Ron, Laura and kids and Dick in I in your prayers. Also, substantial dusting to make Jeanne take an easterly turn and out to sea.
Right now they tell us to at least expect Tropical Force winds.
We're off to refresh some of our supplies in a little while. From the looks of things this hurricane season is far from over  .
Thanks Guys!! Figgy

I hope Dick and you stay safe and Ron and his family as well. I cannot imagine what you are all going through. Please stay safe and go away Jeanne!

Not again! Geez...
Let's hope Jeanne changes her mind again and turns way before she hits the Florida coast.
In the meantime, make sure you shove as much ice into your freezer as you can get in there.
Pixie dust and thoughts are with you guys again!
Ivan comes up – makes a right hook – hovers
Heads South and is now reforming in the gulf looking
To hit LA or TX!!??? And Jeanne was on her way out to sea but
Had a change of mind and is now heading towards the SE USA!
These storms need to get the (&()#&(@&# out of here!!
Enough already – my prayers go out to all of you and we’re watching Jeanne here in NC : (

"Well the wind is blowing harder now, 50 knots or thereabouts...
there's whitecaps on the ocean and I'm watching for waterspouts...
it's time to close the shutters, it's time to go inside...
in a week I'll be in gay Paris and that's a mighty long airplane ride...."
"Trying to reason with hurricane season"--Jimmy Buffett
Gas stations are getting crazy, people are starting to panic again. We put up the shutters at the hospital today (for the 3rd time this year) and luckily enough for me, all the damage has already been done at the homestead. I don't expect anything worse this time around, but I'll prepare anyway. At least I have a generator now so things will be easier.
Geez guys, I really feel for you! Sending along our thoughts and prayers that this one give you all a pass and heads back out to sea.
Joe

Maybe you should add a counter for number of days until hurricane season ends... *sigh*
I keep thinking hurricane party will be a last minute meet for Mousefest. This season has been so crazy...well...who knows.
I can't imagine how physically and emotionally exhausting this season must be for everyone there. Time to stock up again on batteries, ice and gas for the generator. *sigh*

Oh, Ronski, you have the best attitude! Anyone that can quote Buffett is okay in my book!!! My son saw him perform in historic Fenway Park and the show was awesome. I have a copy from Radio Margaritaville, if you want to hear it let me know.
Good news that you kept your shutters on, Figgy. I hope Dick is feeling stronger.
Prayers and pixie dust for all!

Thanks Ron for the Jimmy quote, that was so neat. All hail Parrotheads!!
We're still getting things together to hunker down. One thing we won't run out of is water. By tomorrow, I'll have every single container in the house filled. We're now up to 17 gallons of water ready to go. A lot in the big empty freezer the garage turning into ice. We just pray that the trailer will be safe, so we can use the gas "fridge. Martin County schools are out tomorrow. Bet Ron gets out tomorrow by noon. Seems to be following the same time frame that Frances hit us with.
Dick is doing fantastic, although already grumbling about no a/c. I told him he can sleep out in the SUV like he did before and keep cool. We only have a couple of panels of plywood to put up, the rest are still in place. Our stupid neighbors took all theirs down---hee, hee, hee.
Will keep in touch if I can. Lou-Ann will update when I can't get through to her or Ron. At least Dick can jump in the pool this time around. Figgy

did you know that Jimmy lived around the corner from me in Key West? He used to drive an old battered pickup truck before he hit it big. Funny guy, loves life. Funny thing is he has a fancy house on the island about 3 miles away from me here. Dude is following me around.....
Figgy, I'll try to stop by tomorrow sometime during the day to help with those last panels--tell Dick not to overdo it! (not like you guys listen to me anyways... :P ) Here's to hoping this one drifts further north.....

Hey, Ron, We're heading down to HS early, eating at Melvins for breakfast, to Publix or W/D for salt, then home for a little while. Dick has been wearing a heart montoring device which needs taking off tomorrow at 10:00.over on Monterey. We should be home around 11:00 He may have you carry in two batteries as back-up for a TV set that runs off the big ones. Thanks for the help offer, SuperRonski :D !!! Figgy

Why salt? To use like salt tablets?

My goodness! Just when you guys start to get somewhat back to normal, you have to go into hurricane preparation mode again. :? Take care of yourselves. Hopefully Jeanne will just move on up the coast out in the open water.
