Addendum to Day 1 – Illuminations (I knew something didn't seem right about just sitting around the hotel room - so here it is the rest of day 1)
I forgot I did end up going to a park after checking into the hotel. I didn’t have much to eat that day, so decided to go get some food at EPCOT and stay for Illuminations. It was late when I got there so I just quickly browsed at some of the flower show stuff while walking over to Japan.
I made it there about 15 minutes before the start of the show and hoped to get a window seat at the lounge. The room was pretty full with a couple of big groups, but I got a decent seat, although not right at the window. Ordered an appetizer and enjoyed it while Illuminations was going on.
There was one couple sitting nearby and I really enjoyed listening to the lady. She was in awe of the show. After the show I could tell her companion gave her a little bit of a hard time for being so vocal during the show. I just had to butt in and told her that I really enjoyed listening to her “appreciation” of the show – it made it that much better for me.
We were talking across the room for a bit and then I ended up joining them and chatting for a bit. Told her I was an Disney Internet Geek and about the meet that Margaret had set up that I had been to earlier in the day. She hadn’t been to Disney since I think the 70s and had done a lot of research on-line mostly at the Passporter site. I told her about Tagrel’s and invited her to join us. But neither of us had a pen to write it down and I doubt she would remember the name. So a great big hello to Jane, from the lounge in Japan, if she does find her way here.
I then left and went back to the hotel to get some rest before picking up Valerie after work.
